difference between regular fruiting chamber and shotgun?

I'm wondering what the difference between a regular fruiting chamber lined with perlite, and one of the shotgun ones. Cuz right now I got a shot gun terrarium but I can't seem to get the humidity any higher than 80%, and I'm always there to fan it out like 6 to 8 times a day, so I'm about to make another fruiting chamber for more room. and I'm wondering if I should make that a shotgun chamber too, or If I should just let it be whole because I'll be there to air it out multiple times a day. I just want to know becuase I hope if I make a fruiting chamber without the holes then I will be able to acheive a higher humidity level using the perlite. THANKS!

If you are going to fan anyway, there's little advantage to the shotgun setup. It's designed for 'semi-autonomous' operation. If you can't get above 80% you may need more perlite. Or calibrate your hygrometer. Or if your local rH is low, you might be need to have an ultrasonic going in your house.

Anyone who can't "get above 80%" using a shotgun has a worthless electronic hygrometer that I've posted a thousand times isn't worth the rock it will take to smash it to bits.
You're supposed to be misting everytime you fan, and if you are, your shotgun terrarium will be in the mid 90% range. Fresh air exchange is the number ONE pinning trigger, so don't go back to those stupid sealed up terrariums that deliver mediocre results at best. RR

RR's right but EVERY hygrometer i buy (all analog) breaks so if you really follow this tek correctly you will have success.
