Is this San Pedro?!
    #10247325 - 04/28/09 02:01 AM (14 years, 11 months ago)

Hey guys!

I have come across what I believe is San Pedro, and what others believed was San Pedro last year.. I tried to boil it down, but alas, friends and alcohol became involved and the whole thing went to shit.

Anywho, it's a year later, I don't really drink any more, I find alcohol's effects... detrimental to my mental condition at times, and a chaotic, relatively useless drug, personally.

I've come across a cactus that I believe may be San Pedro, I only have the one picture:

I tried to get as close a look as possible, but didn't get much.  Will scope out more later, but wanted to gather opinion first, on if people think this may be / is / isn't San Pedro, before I cut a piece of for further examination.

Ciao!

Thanks Dr. uarewotueat!

This is the cacti I found last year, just for some thoughts on it this year.. people said they reckoned it was San Pedro last year.

Ah, excellent!  Thanks muchly Doctor!  In the year since I last visited this Cacti, it has grown quite a nice new arm, and is still growing quite nicely, so I think another cutting will be just fine!

This probably isn't the right place to ask my next question, but it does lead on from my topic!

I am thinking of starting from basics, trying the mescaline experience, before I try too hard with extracts and what not.  If I just cut the spikes out, and eat the whole bloody thing (3-5ft part), will that work?  Will I most likely vomit?  (A risk I'm willing to take mind you!)

:haha:

if you can eat 5 feet of that cactus you will be my hero and very very fucked lol

you need to do an extraction or at least boil it down into a drinkable amount. 12" - 18" is usually about what you'll need for one person.

hit the chem forum for extraction teks and such :yesnod:

Alrighty, maybe I will just boil it down, i've read a few teks over the past year.. n the basics aren't hard really.. just time consuming!

But, half the fun is in the ritual.. right?  lol!

I'll keep a log of all the events.. might even film or audio record some of the night!

Friday night's the night, and starting it off with an art exhibition, so should be good vibes-a-flowin!

you will have to prepare it, eating even a foot of horribly bitter cactus and holding it down is an inhuman task.

enjoy! :sanpedro:

Yeah you are going to puke lol. You are better off making tea. I don't know why you are waiting to do a mescaline extraction. Its easy and straight forward to make mescaline citrate.

Actually, the cacti is growing in a park, so it's fair game, but I want it to keep on growing!

And, to all that laugh at my idea of eating it... now I DO wanna eat the whole thing, film me eating it and post it up here.......
I love a challenge.. the stupider the better =D!

But.. that said, I also like sensible challenges, so maybe i'll just do that extract!!  Allll depends on time my shroomery friends!  But, I will create content from this cacti experience, how ever it ends up going down!  For your enjoyment!

I had the same attitude when everyone told me how hard eating cacti is! There's just one problem: it is every bit as disgusting and nauseating as everyone says it is. I can't really think of the best way to describe the taste, but put it this way: I'd rather give a hobo a handjob than eat San Pedro again.

Park = fair game?
No it does not, a park is for everyone to enjoy and is provided by the state/local government and maintained by the city; what you are doing is stealing from your community members and from the city.

It can't be that bad :smirk:
I like to chew jolly ranchers in between gulps of cactus, makes things easier
Don't try it with peyote though, nothing, i mean nothing, helps to mitigate that vile bitterness. Pachanoi is one thing, lophophora is another  :puke:

he already got his balls busted when he posted about it last year, that's why i didn't this time lol

ZenXi6: really, if you are going to take some of the cactus, you should take a small cutting home to grow and consume in the future.
i don't think the regular cacti lovers of the forum would have too much of a problem with you doing that.
it is certainly better than taking it from a public park just to eat.
that is a gnarly old cactus that looks like it has been raped too many times already.

do the right thing and purchase cuttings to grow yourself, or expect to be labelled as a thief :yesnod:

Fair cop, but, if you saw the location it was in, you would probably agree with me!  "Park" was the best word to describe it, and although it is on public land, that's the only parkish thing about it.

But, that said, points taken.  I will grow my own cacti for future enjoyment.

I'm not out to fuck up things!  Sustain things, yes!  Not fuck things up!
