What a start to the NBA playoffs

Celtics and Bulls Game 1 going into OT. Derrick Rose is playing out of his mind

Sick game. First time I've gotten to see Rose play in the NBA. Unreal.

Hard to believe that PP missed that FT.

Not really, hes only an 80% shooter and he made about 7 in a row before that. But yeah, clutch miss.

I would love to see the Bulls upset :yesnod:

With his track record, I always expect a guy like that to make that shot, knowing that the game was there for the taking.

Holy Shit D-Rose is Sick.

That is probably his best game of the year.

The only bad thing about Tyrus hitting those shots in OT is that he is now going to think he's Shawn Marion and will take 20 shots next game, of which he will miss 18.

He's not a shooter, but often thinks he is.

But wow, great game.

Bulls get a playoff win, Blackhawks get a playoff win, Cubs beat the Cardinals, White Sox beat the AL Champs @ home, and new Bears Pro-Bowl QB Jay Cutler sings the stretch at Wrigley.

Great day to be a Chicago fan.

You are correct about all of that sir!!!

Although "new Bears and soon to be former Pro Bowl QB Jay Cutler, yada, yada, yada" would be more factual, I'll leave you to your day.

Talk to me next year after you enjoy a season full of mediocre -or just bad- quarterbacking.

Then multiple it by like, 50.

Do you remember Sid Lukman?

Me fucking either.

You people in Denver are spoiled

Pretty good day in Cleveland today too. We spoil the Yankees stadium opener 2 days ago 10-2 and follow it up with a 22-4 win today. Cavs man handled the Pistons and the Bulls beat Celtics. Cavs very well could sweet Detroit

Well, remember that my heart has been with the Bears since I was a little and I have been a Broncos hater for just as long. Getting rid of Shanahan and Cutty were the last two stumbling blocks to me being able to root for them the way I can the Rockies and Nuggets.

In a certain sense I HOPE he does well, but I have no faith in him whatsoever. And I have a feeling whoever McDaniels gets is going to end up just fine.

Of course you do.  Because you think good quarterbacks grow on trees, when in reality they are one of the hardest things in sports to find.

No, I just believe that good coaching and REAL discipline (as in "you think you're bigger than the team? You can kick dust) has, can, and will develop more talent than the other philosophies will ever find. Sadly, with the acceptance of crappy "me first" attitudes and what many deem as necessary concessions to players, the overall level of team play is at an all time low and we are robbed of seeing many great players develop.

If we look at all of the talent that never even sniffed the greatness that could have been in the past 20 or so years, it's always entitlement or injury that is the culprit. And it's usually the former rather than the latter.

I trust McDaniels until he proves that the NE juggernaut is a fluke. Jay has a sense of entitlement that even the all time greats laughed at (it's a business Jay, and you are NOT the boss) and he'll get his butt kissed in Chicago, but not here. What his numbers will look like, to me, is a calculated guess, and I guess he'll end up worse off due to conditions that I have mentioned several times over. Not to mention that the baby cried and got his bottle, and when the next situation that doesn't appease him arises, he'll go to what means he knows best to get his way, and that's not very encouraging to me.

I hope he goes on to have a HOF career in Chicago. I hope I am wrong. I like watching greatness in action, and no doubt Cutler is a talent. But so was Billy Owens and Stephon Marbury and a LOT of other guys.

The NE juggernaut is not a fluke, but McDaniels is not the cause of it.

Bellicheck is.

Every team that hires a former Patriots assistant thinks they have the guy that was the key to everything.

And they all fucking flop.

Mcdaniels is just the latest in that line.

Things change. I think that McDaniels, from what I understand he was the only "mini me" of the group, will have the best chance to replicate the success. He already showed his mettle with Jay, but the big difference is Bill B either would have just said what he felt or not talked to the media at all. There's no way a rookie 32 year old coach could pull off that last move, and I imagine Brian will learn from this.
