for those of you who wear contact lenses...
    #10177835 - 04/16/09 01:22 PM (14 years, 11 months ago)

the little rubber stopper on the top of the vials works as a self healing injection port

well, my contacts come in little glass vials with a rubber stopper and a plastic cap:

the rubber piece is self-healing if you poke it with a needle.

My contact lenses are of the soft variety, and they only come in cheapo plastic containers with foil lids :frown:

Dude that's amazing - I've literally spent ages today thinking how I'm going to make decent lids on my jars, thought polyfill, but really liked the idea of self healing ports. I've got a couple of these sitting in my bathroom cabinet, gonna go play with 'em now!

How did you discover this? Any tips for using them? Assume they're PC-able?

You sir, are a visionary, I salute you!

making nice lids is easy. just takes a drill, a little silicon, and some tyvek.

True - but look how cool it is! And for me it means a few free materials (or at least recycled) - I've got at least 4!
