Has anyone read any good books lately? I just finished reading Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk and realised I have no unread books left in my house. I need to make an informed purchase.

These are more like artbooks, but they are the best to look through on psychedelics :smile2:

it's by Mark Vonnegut (kurts son) and its about"Mark’s years immediately after college, his thoughts, experiences and descent into and eventual emergence from mental illness" which is pretty much his decent into schizophrenia from a mescaline trip and into it and then the recovery.

The last book I read was Blue Monday: Fats Domino and the Last Dawn of Rock 'n Roll. It's Fats Domino's biography.
It was real good.

Maybe I'll pick it up if I can find it. The bookstores where I am aren't altogether that big on lesser known titles though.

There's a book exchange just down the road. I'm going to have a look. Wish me luck!

I just finished "Valis" by Philip K. Dick

Its probably his best known book, although i preferred some of his short stories more than the book, it was good, if not alot to comprehend.

Essentially he writes the book from the perspective of a 2nd part of his personality, a beam of light transfers information into his head, and he finds out that "god" is some sort of super intelligence communicating with him + a whole bunch of weird stuff happens interlaced with weird mundane 70's stuff.

Also, currently reading "inner pathes to outer space" by Rick strassman + luis eduardo Luna + others

Its essentially a primer to the psychedelic experience, mushrooms, dmt and ayahuasca, and discusses indepth shamanism and thoughts on psychedelics interpretations of the universe. - It is actually very good.

Well no luck at the book exchange. I'm making my way into town to check out the larger bookstores.
That "Valis" sounds okay. Maybe I'll have a look for it as well.

Hunter S Thompson is a master.

I really like Carlos Castaneda books. You gotta read them in order. Look into them both.
