Anybody know of a solution to this computer problem?
    #10141115 - 04/10/09 08:23 AM (14 years, 11 months ago)

Here's the setup. I have a laptop which obviously has shitty speakers, so I have an external soundcard that all my speaker stuff is plugged into. Its 5.1 so it should sound good and when I test the speakers they all show up, but in reality its not working right. For some reason the rear speakers play through the front, making all the music in the front and none in the back. Every screen on my computer is telling me that I should have 5.1, but I don't. All the speakers are WORKING! Please help

Yep, everything should be good to go, but its been this way for awhile. I feel like there's some program that is making it go stereo, but I have no idea which.

you can set your speaker position ( back right left ) through windows. i've forgotten how to do it through XP to explain step by step. and i'm too stoned right now.. just fiddle around with the control panel and sound options till you find it.

In control panel sounds applet it has a section to set speaker system, you can choose 5.1. That might help.
