I got this message on msn and it points to a legit msn page:
Quote:
Windows Live™ Messenger Service Staff says: Important service announcement: As part of a recent system enhancement, we need you to change your e-mail address to continue signing in to the Windows Live™ Messenger Service.
To ensure that your access is not blocked and to learn more, go to http://support.microsoft.com/gp/Messenger/en
What the fuck is this bullshit? Did anybody else get this?

I made a booter for MSN about 4 years ago that would pop up a similar message on the victim. Though it would pop up about 100 of them.
What "name" did the message come from? Or was it a system message?

But look at the website. It's clearly a Microsoft message.
Quote:
: If I change my old sign-in ID, will I need to tell all my contacts that my instant message name has changed?
No. Windows Live Messenger Service will take care of updating everyone’s contact lists with your new sign-in ID. Changing your sign-in ID will not change your Messenger display name, so if you use a friendly name, you'll appear the same to your contacts. It may take up to one hour for the system to update your contacts. During this time, you may appear offline. In some instances, a user that has you as a contact may have to sign off and back in to see the change in your profile. Your new sign-in ID is for the Windows Live™ ID or Windows Live sign-in only.

Do you use MSN at work? It appears that this relates to corporate Messenger. Maybe your company upgraded its server?

i think its a fake, some other forums had thread about this. Its probably a hoax created internally because it points to a real page, but its fuckin 4 years old. I'm definitely not going to bother unless it kicks me out permanently
