First grow Contaminated brf JARS?

Ok so heres the first jar. Its cultivating slower than my other jar which is completely white but i think that may be cobweb. In this first pic to the left and right are strong patches of healthy white mycellium and in the middle it still looks like mycellium but its kinda an off white/yellow.
heres another view(kinda)
And here are a few pics of a jar that appears to have reached 90% colonization. I noticed some black specs on the jar and i know thats common with cobweb, plus it looks too stringy(maybe weak mycellium?) you be the judge
If the first one is contaminated is what kind is it?
Also as far as a safe way for air exchange, are bandaids over punctured holes ok? These are pyrex 1/2pint jars with airtight(not anymore, because of inoculation holes)rubber tops, that fit snugly.

sorry, I signed on just to answer for ya (felt bad). In regards to contam: that off white yellow is a sign that your incubating at too high a temp. It will still do fine for fruiting, ur just stressin the myc., so keep it around room temp from now on for it. As for the cobweb, in my experience, only time or H2O2 will tell and the latter hurts myc. growth a little too. Ur pics arn't that good (not insult I dont even have a digital camera) so the black spots may or maynot be contam. It looks like myc. to me but how fast has it been growing (cobweb grows crazy fast)?

When you see various sectors of different mycelium, it means the jar is contaminated. Toss it.
Use proper lids. If those are mason jars, you should be using the two piece lids that come with them. Drill four 1/8" or smaller holes in each lid to inoculate through, and make sure your inoculant is not contaminated. Make your jars via the brf tek. Bandaids are not a filter. RR

GODDAMIT >.<
Oh well. Thanks RR, and thanks whitelight.
So im fucked, i hate my life. Ive got a little spore solution left, i got brown rice and verm but NO MONEY. I just inoculated two glasses with tinfoil lids a few days ago, no growth yet. Time to go toss go out my investment.....again.

Next time, follow the link I gave you to the letter with no shortcuts. I get emails on my website every day from new growers with zero experience that followed that tek, and then they send me pictures of their first mushrooms. You can do it. RR
