First time grafting attempt...a few questions

So, I just attempted my first graft. I bought a small grafted cactus from lowes and used the bottom portion as the stock, and a T. bridgesii seedling as the scion. Then i grafted one of the pups of the previous red scion onto one of my Pilosocereus leucocephalus that i had laying around. I then put both into a small humidity chamber under a small LED light.
What im worried about is the T. bridgessi graft...since the seedling was small and seemed very fragile to pressure...I was afraid to attempt to apply rubber bands...but i beveled the edges of the stock cactus and placed in a humidity chamber to attempt to reduce the amount of curling that the cut face will do as it dries...do you guys think it will work? Also i didn't notice any real roots on the seedling when i dug it out of its pot, just a taproot. Is this normal for a 3 month old seedling?
thanks in advance for the help guys agmotes165

It is normal for a seedling to only have what resembles a taproot. You shouldn't apply rubber bands to seedlings that small so you made the right choice. As long as you beveled the edges you should be okay. It looks like you aligned the seedling right too. Looks good. Keep it in there for about a week.

The hylocereus graft looks like the seedling is a bit too small to be on a stock that size, but still not small enough to be on a stock without something holding it to it.

I too look forward to results on the seedling, it looks promising if it takes.

A little bit of brown is fine. If the whole thing starts turning brown though, I'd get into a place with less humidity. Is the scion on the left starting to shrivel?

well the only update i can offer is that the seedling is not dead...and though it looks as though the whole cutting surface of the seedling is not attached...the area directly over the vascular bundle of the stock seems to have attached...if it does successfully attach...will i notice a definite increase in growth rate? I am extremely inexperience with cactus growth rates...if anyone could offer pics or time references vs. size of scion, that would be awesome

Well i am bummed to report that the T. bridgesii seedling is a goner
But it looks like the gymnocalycium graft to Pilosocereus leucocephalus may be a success
I need lots of Pereskiopsis to graft my seedlings to...I have 100 T. bridgesii seeds on the way (MOD EDIT: please read and follow the rules... illegal items are not allowed to be sold/traded on the shroomery and trading is not allowed in the ethno forum...)

Keep in mind that initial progress (before meristematic tissue differentiates into vascular tissue) depends heavily on the quality of the graft union.
