I know you have a vid of grains but it's rye not WBS. And I know you prefer rye over WBS but you have anything out there for WBS and if not, going to?

Don't know if you read the DVD thread, but it looks like RR may not be producing more videos any time soon. I don't blame him for that.
WBS is almost exactly the same as rye as far as preparation goes. IME, the only difference is that you should rinse it a little better. So 24 hour soak, a little simmer (standard 10 min boil works well for me, WBS vaires a lot more than rye), then a 90 min PC.

I followed the DVD's instructions for RYE with WBS instead and everything turned out perfectly.

Exactly. Trust me on the rinsing better thing though. WBS tends to be really dirty right out of the bag, so before the soak I put it in a large bucket (PC works if you don't have a bucket) and fill it with water, even hose water will work, then mix it up a little and drain a few times.

for wbs you just need to get the floaters out during the rinsing process but that shouldn't be a big deal

You dont even have to do that. Someone did a few jars a while back using nothing but floaters. I DO skim them, just because I always have, but not out of any real necessity.

Rye is superior to WBS. I've seen RR post this before. But WBS will do just fine.

Maybe, but Im not paying more for my spawn per pound than I am my substrate. I have used it for years, and always will, unless the price of rye drops dramatically.

I rinse well and remove floaters, soak overnight, rinse, simmer, rinse, strain, towel dry and PC.

I find it funny how everyone always calls for daddy to present stuff for them on a silver plate when they can't seem to be bothered to look for the TONS AND TONS AND TONS of information that can be found on every single angle of mushroom cultivation on these boards. "Daddy, yesterday we had steak and you taught me how to eat it. Today we are having schnitzel and I have no fucking clue how to eat it. Can you please show me? Like every single detail? And tomorrow I am going to ask you about chicken". If I was RR I'd be annoyed. For Christ's sake, folks, use your brain and the search function if you think you must ignorantly disregard what other experienced growers are telling you, because you will only take your Kung Fu lessons with the Sifu himself.
