WBS Growth Question

Hey everyone
so last tuesday (6 days ago) i knocked up 16 jars of WBS using Doc's tek
none of the jars show any growth in them... and i know youre suppose to be totally patience and wait for a while before you get worried
but with my pf tek in the past i saw growth in 4 days, or so
so i was wondering how long does it usually take to see signs? and how long before i call it a lost cause? and should i be worried ive seen nothing in 16 jars.

I have always seen growth in my WBS jars after 2-3 days. i wouldnt give up on them yet. if you arent short on jars, let them sit for a another week and while you are waiting, make up some more jars... Where did you get your spores? does the WBS look dry or wet?

After 14 days you can call it a loss. I always recommend mixing in a little verm when you do the wbs, it makes it sooo much easier to get the moisture content right.

im in a similar situation, using BRF jars method and old syringes that have been kept in an attic for just under 3 years! 6 days and nothing, be patient, were your spores really old?
Im egging mine on ,I have hope that something with myc will kick in soon!

hey monkee, did you shake your jars after innoculating? with multispore innoculations, you shouldnt shake the jars after inoculation. it takes longer for the spores to germinate, have spore sex, after being shaken. wait it out a while. next time, dont shake the jars right after inoculation. wait till you see signs of growth before shaking jars.

well I wouldn't worry for just six days. For some reason (maybe I have a weak LC) I don't see any signs of growth in my wbs quarts for about a week, and the jar isn't fully done for about 5-6weeks. I'll fix this problem soon but right now I'm in no hurry.

Z strain by any chance? There is one post in the sponsers area that mentioned "Z" by name. I got a dud from them a few weeks ago. Just curious as to what you tried.
Read this. See if you can relate. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10001845
Also, that was now 12 days ago. First set of jars doing quite well, the 4 to the right, nada.

lol, I saw specks in my syringe as well after a shake. But thats now 3 ppl that have had similar results from same source, same strain. Things happen... Perhaps he got a bad batch? Speculation at this point. But was glad to read this morning that wasn't the only person that had a similar result.

Weird. I got the Ralphsters choice about 3 weeks ago and got the z-strain for free with it as the S.O.T.M. and decided to knock up some jars with this strain first as I've seen good results. All my jars are doing great, after 6 days I'm at about 30%. Only thing I noticed was that it was the only syringe that had a dark coating of spores on the inside of the syringe, making it look like a shaded coating(I think he probably uses jet dry or something similar to keep the spores from sticking to the side and maybe he did not use it on this batch or something). All the other ones just had spores floating and congregating but whatever they're going great. Just figured I'd chime in about the z-strain and I'm sorry for the losses guys. May the sporage R.I.P.
