hey guys im back. and got some more questions, ive read some grow guides and have been browsing the message boards which have answered some questions but would like some answers specifically to my questions. hope you'll help me out 1st what is the preferred casing mix, i used a BRF substrate and vermiculite.and should i crumble the cakes up or leave them whole? ive read alot of both on these methods. i was planning on using large Rubbermaid containers, for fruiting chambers, so what would be best my other question is about dunking. should you dunk your cakes before the 1st fruit or is that only to get them to fruit again?
thanks for the help and i'll probably be back agin for more info

Cakes should be dunked and rolled in vermiculite. It would be easier and probably faster to pin if you left them whole
A clear plastic container will be good, just like this one. Shotgun FC's are good for cakes http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Terrarium-Tek
Cakes should be dunked after birthing, before the first flush, it will help to rehydrate them, which will help them grow nice and big

I just used his method several days ago... and it worked wonderfully!~
what I did...
5 cups of peat 5 teaspoons of Lime 5 tablespoons of gypsum
mixed that up really good dry...
then added 5 cups of water...
mixed that up really good!~
let it set for 1 hour...tested the ph and it was right on the money!~ then added...
5 cups of Verm
and mixed that up really good!~
and it filled up 4 quart jars with the casing material.
and then I followed the rest of his instructions.
I like how the mycelium is coming through nice and evenly...already.
to Roger!~

hey RR,
I was just wondering what the wanted pH-level for a casing is since I have meter to check it.
Also is there a value for bulk substrate as well?
