Is anyone currently doing this commercially? Most of what I seem to find on this site is about magic mushrooms. I am not interested in those. I want to make an honest living growing some oysters for profit. I need some help with designing my entire operation. I have a 10' x 18' area I can build in. Anyone with experience on a commercial level around? I am not against selling kits and such, however I am more interested in selling the final product at farmers markets and to chefs at restaurants. I have a basic plan for what I want to do but as far as conditions and budget go I need some help finding the right materials for the right price..... I need everything from framing wood to wall covering (for my conditions I don't think visqueen will work). I got a few jars and lids to start with, but I need a pressure cooker for jars and spore syringes, syringes for using my own spore prints, building materials for my climate and humid control, spawn production area, grow room, and fruit room. I also need to design a good filter for this area. Fruit room plan is 10 x 12, grow room 6 x 5, climate room 3 x 5, spawn production 3 x 5. this is going to be in an uninsulated garage so I need to insulate my room and I need some help designing and controlling temp. I live in midwest with normally high humidity and moderate to extreme winters depending on the year. I really need some help designing this system. I also need some help determining how much light I need in fruiting room for oysters (golden variety). I can't put a window in because garage is shaded by a large tree. I have grown small amounts of mushrooms as a hobby but growing to commercial is completely different from some little plastic box. I know I am asking for a lot, but I can't get a job because of an injury I sustained some years ago. Employers don't want to hire me because comp premiums might go up due to my "pre exisiting" condition. Anyone who can help me with the whole design would be greatly appreciated. I am a carpenters son so I can read a schematic or blue print as long as it has scale and measurements. Please if you are not qualified to help me don't respond. As I said I am on a shoe string budget and cannot afford to take chances I need an experienced expert.
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help and God bless.
