This sounds great have been puttering with a one shot bag like this for a year now......I must admit to get pin formation is the hardest thing at times...What I have been doing is trying to determine the ideal PH for the substrate.

I'm of the opinion that higher is better say 8 even though these bags will not fall to contamination. Reason being as the mycelium metabolizes it will make the substrate more acidic lowering the PH... at this point the substrate will compete with the undesirable green meanies and your done. Any thoughts???

" I have a question. Where does the pH need to be for maximum growth?"

In a sterile container, I'd say 5 to 6 would be good. IMHO

If anyone has suggestions for refining the ratio of ingredients please let me know.

This works great as is, but why not make it better.

Try it with PR or PE strains.

If anyone has other concoctions that work well feel free to share as well.

RR says 5.5-6.5 is good for fast colonization. Since there is little risk of contams with this method I would suggest staying in this range.

Test ph after mixing all ingredients with water after letting it sit for a few hours if you wanna have a real good idea of where it's at.

There might be room for a bit higher ph in a spawning scenario, but I am no expert.

Also, I'd like to emphasize that the point of this recipe is HIGH POTENCY

Great Recipe!  ...one question. What should the PH level be before PCing?
