I am the original author of this post and I dont know why half of the tek has been omitted here. Below is a link to the original forum post I made almost 20 years ago (wow 20 years. Its been a minute).

Hope this is still helpful to people.

FYI preheating your PC seems like a good idea to speed up the process, however if you do this you must preheat your spawn jars before placing them in the already hot water in your PC otherwise you run the risk of cracking your jars. On my last PC run I lost 1 out of 7 jars because of this fact.

Where's the rest of this post? Seems like it cuts short...

Looks like the end of the tek has been cut off... What do you do after draining the kernels?

Nice tek. Add 1/4 tsp. (1g.) of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and 1/4 tsp. (1g.) calcium sulfate (CaSO4) to the jars before sterilizing. Helps with moister content and nutrients.

Thanks for taking the time to share this, i was trying to get the Rye seed, and its difficult and expensive, (aorund $4usd per kilo) popcorn is cheaper and easy to get.

Thanks

Does the popcorn get soft or does it stay hard?

Great tek. Love the simplicity. Have you tried adding a small ammount of verm to the popcorn? I do it after rinsing before I put it in jars. I get a perfectly ballanced humidity as a result. (Never dry, never soggy)

I am about to try this tek in hopes it works for me...... Just a question for you,do you use this tek alot? Good success rate and everything????I tried birdseed and it was a total failure over and over..... i usually have just been ordering pre sterilized shit because it was so frustrating trying to get it to work...... And one more question where do you find the filter discs???Thank you much

Popcorn Tek is probably my favorite tek to use. It's cheap, easy and effective.

This is a very well written tek, too! Awesome job and thank you.

I wish everyone did their teks as well as you.
Both educational and funny.
