I was surprised to find out this works like a charm, but about adding water i just do it during the night cycle.

Do not use this TEK for the love of God. Warm steam will cause condensation which you do not want. Not to mention that steam rising toward a 120 volt light socket is probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Just spend the 6 bucks and get some god damned perlight.

Horrible idea. Even if the bulb doesn't break, this will constantly be evaporating water, which will corrode the contacts of the bulb and be a huge fire hazard. It may have worked, but it could end badly.

Maybe covering the glass jar with a non translucent tape or paint or something...?
