Last summer I ate 14 grams of some washed Amanita Muscaria. I started to feel weird so I layed down and fell asleep. I woke up thrity minutes later and upon opening my eyes time was stopped. My girlfriend was sitting not moving and everything was simply frozen but my brain was not. Then time started to slip a little like a quarter second foward at a time then snap back to being frozen. this happened for a period of about ten to fifteen minutes unti I could pull myself off the couch and actually move forward in time and space. I ended up betaken to a free concert on the river and over the next three hours every thirty second or so time would flash back a quarter second. I was watching people re take steps and actions in a slit second. It actually caused me to drop the first beer I bought because this dejavu effect happened and suddenly I wasn't holding me beer lol A lot of people don't know how to understand this experience cause it was pretty unbelievable. Didnt have any other visuals or effecrs but watching time stop and skip back and forth and very weird almost primal feeling lol

I wish I had read this before I dried all my caps this fall. I gathered over a dozen caps so now dried I have about 50-60 grams. I would have frozen them as you suggested and cooked them little bits at a time, they do have a delicious flavour.
I ate some fresh at first because I had read the motto - 'start with small quantities of fresh and work your way up'. The fresh ones gave me some mental clarity and hyperactivity, but the nauseau that came with it was enough to put a bit of a dark side to the experience, you know those few instances where you think 'shit, I've eaten too much and now I'm going to die.' Obviously I was nowhere near a lethal does, but those thoughts still kick in and scare the piss out of you. IMOP eating fresh wasn't worth the side effects, although that may have gotten better if I had kept regularly eating them. Better to cook them though, bottom line.
I've now steeped about 6 grams on the woodstove for about 3 hours and am about 30 minutes in after drinking the tea. It's a bit late so I'm hoping that I'll have better dreams and more energy tomorrow if I go to bed fairly soon. I'll post tomorrow to see how it turns out.
Thanks for the article, very helpful.

This article inspired me to try them out. Rather than the large amounts recommend elsewhere I went with the above 1-2 tablespoons - putting roughly 1.5 tbsp of dried (the only ones available at the time) mushrooms into some scrambled eggs after first sauteeing gently and briefy with butter and garlic. Quite soon after, say 15 to 20 minutes, I began to feel pleasantly energized and chatty and a little giddy. I had an important call to make for work and was really in the zone for that call which lasted about an hour. Pleasant energized feeling all day, no unpleasant after-effects. I'll definitely have another such breakfast soon.

I have recieved very mixed reports about Amanita Muscaria ov er the years, mainly that they are dangerous and have kept away from them but have used Psilocybin a lot over 8 years ago now.
Strangely I did pick a couple of Amanita caps a few days ago and for the about 2 hours felt a mild sense of well- being and as the light faded street lamps glowed with a trippy alure - I wondered if this came from briefly picking up these mushrooms?

"Such usage would be SERIOUSLY harmful and counterproductive if you tried doing it with psilocybe mushrooms!"
erm wtf, i realli dont see this being possible..... you mean with P.amanitas yes maybe with the
%u03B1-amanitin present in most amanita species.

I found this small etching very helpful indeed. It has embued me the confidence to give amanitas a chance. I'm in Sydney, Australia and its usually a bit warm and dry here for psilocybe varieties. Amanitas seem to be far more ubiquitous, and I've seen plenty in a local pine forest. But unfortunately misuse and sensationalist reports have discouraged me from trying them until now. I also have a keen interest in cookery and eddibles, and they sound delicious. I'll report my experiences
