I have a little word document on my PC with a collection of tips that I collected during the weeks and months of research prior to my first grow. Scotsman's tips take pride of place. To me I can only presume it is his particular attention to the double end casing and keeping it well watered. I think there is a fear of water and/or too much of it amongst us bedroom mycologists, and Scotsman doesn't seem to have that fear. I've heard people talk endlessly about light mistings and absolutely no droplets getting near the myc.. but here Scotsman turns to the water stream to a jet and "soaks" the verm casing. The advantages are there for all to see. My cat's first jars are still colonising, but Scotsman's DEC tek tips are going to be enforced rigorously. If my cakes are HALF as prolific, I'll be over the moon.
