Question:  Currently I have 10 cakes colonizing in pf jars, it has been 12 days since inoculation. One of the cakes is fully colonized with one other close behind. The other 8 appear to need another 3-4 days before complete colonization. Is it okay to wait until ALL the cakes are fully colonized before introducing light for pinning? The two will have to sit while the others catch up, but for the sake of timing I wish to birth all of the cakes at once. However I dont want to disrupt the growing process of the other cakes that have colonized early.

Any info on the matter is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hey guys I am hoping someone can clarify something for me...

"Tamping down tek

Step 3. Place the lid on the jar with the rubberized edge up (jagged edges of the needle holes down). Screw the lid band on. Place pieces of "professional" grade masking tape (holds on during steaming) over the needle holes. This is to protect the needle holes from contaminant entry"

So the flat piece of the two part cap is upside down for sterilization, correct?

The needle holes would be up then too, right?

Anyways, is the cap on upside down just for that process or the entire thing?

Thanks in advance!

The tek is great for a start in mushroom cultivation. However the information about fruiting chambers is outdated and you should look elsewhere for up to date teks........

I tried your method and I tried the rye way with no success. The is no change at all in brown sugar mix or rye grain. I bought 2 syringes and a spore print called AMAZON. I pressure cooked everything at 15psi for 1 hour. Is Spore Store a reliable distributor? What is the easiest strain to grow? Please HELP!  Thanks
