Do you reckon there would be any significant differences in using Demineralised water as apposed to Distilled water? i cant seem to find any locally, there is no real difference between the two. i am pretty sure its just the methods/procedures used to obtain such. Demineralised water i believe is running the water through particular ion resins and purifying it so to speak, as to distilled water is...well...distilled- vapours of steam accumilated and cooled down. if anyone could answer this question i would really appreciate it! Cheers!

When purchasing syringes and needles, does it matter the size of the needle, 22gauge, 18 gauge? What is preferred? I found syringes and needles on a veterinary site, but I was wondering about the sizes and what not. Thank you =]

can you use a micro torch for sterilization of the syringe before use?

when replacing needle cap before storage, is it a good idea to wipe with alcohol or flame sterilize first? I never am certain on this step of procedure. Same question applies to inoculation procedure. People say you dont need to sterilize the needle after its PC'd, any thoughts? Thanks!

A tip on sterility i picked up from my education! Leaving a burner on the table (burning) creates a 3ft sterile (as near as) bubble of air! This should eliminate all air born contaminates although instruments and table surface will still need sterilisation. Personaly i use alcohol as it stops the possibility of heat damage.
