Hello. I made spore prints. as it told in FAQ mushroom growing guide BBC series (movies). For sqringes I used water wich I made steril the same way you do with substrat in jars. (boiled for 1:30 hour) Made the substrat in the jars then inaculated with spores form syringe.  When I was makeing syringe I  I used the  inoculation loop. But no results, no nothing no mold, no mycelium. Tried to drop a solution on agar - nothing too. How I can chek the spores on spore prints, are they usable?  Maybee with microscop. What should I see? What should I doo. HELP please.

Thank you for the post, I will be giving this a try. Also I was unaware of there being  "upper tiers" of this site. What are they, and does a comment count as a post or just thread posts or what? thanks for any info and thanks again for this post.

Thank you for the information it is very helpful.
I'm wondering what's the best way or method of storing spore prints and syringes?

Thank you so much, found this very helpful.
I am just getting started, and have recently started growing.
I ordered first my spores already in a syringe, but once my garden is fully fruited i plan to just make my own print spores.
This sight is really neat.

I wish that one did not have to post greater than 50 postings before we could hit the upper tiers of this site.
However this is my first post, so I am starting that slow climb.

Although aluminum foil and paper are the most common for applying prints onto. I find glass a great way to make prints because you don't have to worry about scraping paper or aluminum foil into your water, also you can hold it up to light and tell a better difference in your spore prints.
I like to use glass slides meant for microscopes, but any  flat surfaced glass will do.

This is a good tek. However, don't use the syringe to scrape off the spores. All you'll wind up doing is ripping the aluminum foil and spreading the spores around on the foil, destroying your print. The best thing to use would be an inoculation loop, if you cant get one of those any rounded object will suffice.
