I'd say he's talking about flush. Just got a flush done now. My last few times trying I got around 2-4 grams per cake. This time 1 cake had 8.7 dry and the others are around 6. Letting dry out a bit now before I dunk and roll again

Do you mean 3-7 grams in 1 flush, or together from 3 flushes?
I dont understand how some cakes manage to get as far as 3 flushes. My Cakes (1/2 pint) usually dont come further than 2 flushes.
Another thing, some of the mushrooms grow extremely big, i just yielded one that was as long as my fore arm fand it was from the second flush(!!!??) Others remain just normal or small, and besides that, some of my 1st flush shrooms dont even come mature but aborts.
How does that come? I hope someone knows an answer, so i can adapt my technique.

I was under the impression that crumbling and casing in non-nutrient casing does not increase yields and in fact might hurt yields because the mycellium must recover from being broken up. On the other hand if the casing material contains nutrients then the mycellium should colonize the casing and would indeed fruit more than just a cake alone would.
