I am again a new novice grower. I've used spore print I've ordered out of high times magazine 20 years ago had little luck. But it's been 20 years these grow bags seem to sell good but how good do they actually work I'd like to know what ppl actually yield from these grow bags. I am at the stage that my substrate is inoculated waiting for pins it's been a week since I started giving the mycelium light air and water. I'd like to see success and learn to grow pounds eventually bc where I'm from there are hardly ever any shrooms.

Hello I was wondering What should I do to the horse manure before I add it in to my mushroom spores that are already in the bag with all of the other nutrients? Do I just let it sun bleach or do I add boiling water? 

First time grower. Just had to throw out 8 of 12 cakes due to contam one had a fluffy white growth protruding from the cake with a uellowish center, one was pink, some had green contam. It%u2019s my fault. I wasn%u2019t properly disinfecting the grow area before opening the tub. I just hope my last 4 cakes will be okay. These 12 cakes have already produced around 50 fruits.

Hello , I just cased a substrate that was fully colonized .. pins seemed to be forming but there was water build up ..cased it with coco coir but haven%u2019t  misted it too much since its already damp , only added 1/4 inch casing . Any input on whether not it%u2019ll produce ?

I'm new to the forum, love reading everyone experiences, I'm starting my own grow on Monday and suggestion for the bedding, I'm seeing coconut fiber, wood chips , brown rice what's the easiest with best results. I have a guy that is doing his own going to show me on Monday but would like to have my own input and have my supplies ready

I need help. This is my second time starting a colony. I got one all white cake. Then I got this guy with the blue green.

Trying to figure out what is going on here, i have tried the grain method three times and have yet to had success. First two bags didn't start inoculating at all started creating a pool of greenish/brown sludge. This batch actually started producing some mycelium but yet again did the same thing. Is this mold or what?

I%u2019m looking for cubensis spores.  I was referred to the sporeworks website and it says that they will reject any orders from California.  Where can I order some?  My son and I microdose and have decided to just try and grow our own.  We%u2019ve been hunting around but are new to mushroom hunting and haven%u2019t found any yet.

Hey, just wanted to know if anyone cn help. I'm looking to grow another batch of mushrooms but i'm back from uni and so am growing at home. I therefore want to buy a ready to grow kit cos i need a quick turnaround and minimal space requirements as i plan to grown them in a cupboard (with plenty of light, i have grown in there before). Unfortunately i also don't want to deliver to the house. Does anyone know a place that can deliver supplies or preferably a grow kit to post office for collection in the UK.

I have been growing a bunch of mushrooms of all color. Mixture of.Olive oil that costs the green mold. The alcohol mix sterilized the water and oil. The mushroom makes a enzymes to kill other molds or mycelium.

Looking for some advice, tips, reassurance, or anything helpful for the project on which I'm about to embark.

Hello i habe 5 spawn bags fully cultivated. We were suppose tonbe mixing it into the substrate today and puting into big bins for the mushrooms to grow. Unfortuanly my partner who is knowledged in all this is no longer involved. Hey guys I'm a newb. This may be a ridiculous question but worth a shot. Any one who is familiar with Albino A . Is it at all common for the mycelium of that strand to have a very very light purple tint to it. It's rye grains and the B is milky white. Got the rye grain myco bag. 

I've recently grown some Golden Teachers. The first flush had loads of bright greeny blue on there stalks. Some of the second flush had flurry white hairs on the bottom of their stalks. I'm just checking that you think they are good to eat?

I just ordered from sporeworks by the way they have pan cyan spore syringes 13$ us enough but my order did not go through so I decided to order elsewhere well while I was elsewhere they called me sporeworks frickin called me to confirm my order over the phone  and gave me a 10% discount the best

Hey I was wondering if I could get a little help never grown anything but reefer anyway so I started with ordering some b spores they sent me 2 syringes and one free and it had eoh on it I put them in a different substrate but here's what's going on I got some horse / cow manure sterilized got it to the right consistency of moisture injected the spores throughout the substrate and mixed it up I waited 2 weeks until I started 2 notice little web like formations start to pop up randomly throughout the substrate and put about and inch of peatmoss over it and put a newspaper over it and have been spraying the newspaper with water every day it's in a cool dark area am I doing this right and how long will it be before I start to see mushies  I started April 4 it's the 25 now

Hello, I've never posted here before so this will be my first post. On Thursday Apr 9 2017 SWIM bought spores and three jars of substrate. SWIM is 18 and still living with parents so has to grow secretively in closet. That same night Thursday Apr 9 2017 SWIM inoculated 3 jars and put about 1CC in each jar. This being SWIM's first grow they were unaware that they needed to put the spores close to the outside of the substrate to see mycelium growth sooner. SWIM's question is with the following conditions how long should it be before they sees growth? (just to put SWIM at ease and stop being paranoid about it I know it's only been two days but I'm just trying to put SWIM's mind at ease).

Hey guys... im going to stay growing mushrooms but I have a few questions. I was going to use the "PF TeK" but im going for a high yield. I want to use vermiculite and brown rice flour with water for this method just because I already have some. I wanted to know how I could use those (obviously with syringes) things but grow bulk. I was thinking instead of using jars I could sterilize a somewhat big tote, then add the substrate, then re-sterilize the tote (like you would with jars), then inject the spores equally between the substrate. Then I'd keep it somewhere dark and hot just like you would with the jars. After the tote is fully cultivated, open the top and put the small tote in a cultivation bag? So basically mix the PF TeK  and the monotub TeK. Thank you for the help%u263A

Hello, this is my first post and I need some help....I bought a 5lb. bag of sterile substrate the other day, it contains manure, peatmoss, vermiculite and finely shredded hard wood mulch for moisture and calcium carbon, that's what the package said. I have clear totes, and want to order.some BURMA spores.....but simply.....I've never grown. I need to know what I can do to grow with this 5lb. Bag of substrate. I need to know how much spores to use, what the grow process is step by step, for growing at home with this 5lb. Bag. My goal after growing with this 5lb substrate, (this grow is purely for test purposes) is to grow in bulk. I have a need for 10 lbs of dried fungus, so after this I wish to grow in bulk. So. i cant order spores bc i live with people who cant know im growing. So how can i get spores without ordering?

Ok so kinda new....I am wondering if a pressure cooker is needed to achieve higher than boiling temps or just is easiest way to heat a dried powder. Naturally trying to decide if building my own is in order, 15 psi just so happens to be the cut off for boiler act laws to kick in. Or if I can just improvise with the oven?

hey everyone, im having contam problems in my rye jars. I have has some sucsess, but for the most part I am losing the battle. I have gone from lc spore syringe, to g2g transfers. am I drying the grain to much b4 I pressure cook them? I cook for 90mins. I soak the grain b4 hand for 12-24 hrs, then simmer it for 20 mins, let dry for about 2 hours. I am cooking 300 jars, and my sucsess rateis like 10 %.... I've been in this battle for 2 years. Have had some success overall, with straw logs but am getting to a point where im not sure anymore. I should be having more success. I ke everything sterile, use  glovebox for knocks, have a fully functional fc.....just seem to be th first stage that gets me....I have them sitting n a dark c can, fully insulated, sitting at 75 degrees. Do I need fae for my mycelium groth in my jars? would this give me contams if I don't any info would help, much luv and thx!!

After two failed attempts to grow this Pan Cam, I think I have some winner jars colonizing. I am just not sure what to do with them next. I am looking for an explanation on casing these bad boys after colonization. My questions are: do I put a layer of perlite or soaked straw in the bottom of my casing box, do I break up my cakes and spread them over said layer, or do I break them up into the 50/50 casing soil? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Mazatapec  BRF cakes have been finishing about two at a time, and I dry and store. My problem is this. After pinning and the dunk and roll  into the fruiting chamber .. facing up ,  every fruit has taken off  from  under the cake,  where there is no light. Then I have to flip it over and all is well. Now, I am using small individual fruiting chambers to better control humidity, although I do have to fan quite a bit.  It goes against what I thought I understood about light triggering and FAE. My yield is not too high, so I assume that a tweak to the system is inevitable. Any thoughts or information about this would be appreciated.
