Try clearing your mind, having plenty of intention regarding anything you may want to address within, and start a little earlier in the day as 2g can send you off from* 5-8 hours.  This medecine will put out what it feels it should, and commands a bit of respect. 

Next time (or for anyone new who may stumble on this),  write out some of your thoughts. 

 [Tea/Lemon Tek will come on quicker [also helps with physical side effects like nausea as oxidation is combated].  

Go into a room where you'll be uninterrupted.  Shut the blinds, turn off the lights, put on an eye mask or cover your eyes with a dark shirt, listen to music.  
I'd suggest something slow as this is not  really a "fast paced" type of experience.  The dark and music are very good activators. Some ppl suggest music with no words or music that is new, I say for comfortability sake... Go with whatever you like as it will resonate deeper & stronger.  Corny, but try to avoid anything too fast, angry or hateful [I listen to the gamut... From Classical>Blues>Rock/HeavyMetal>Edm>HardRap] but prefer (at least to start) with a "Mellowed Out" type of playlist.   Within 30-45mins (may be less or more on 1-2g) you'll LIKELY begin your journey.  

I Always start off with something chill, and switch it up after an hour or so.  On my last trip, it went HARD when the hook to Blink 182's "Anthem Part 3s" hook hit... 
"This time, I won't be complacent. The dreams  I - gave up and wasted; a new high, a new ride.  I'm on fire -- My old shit ends here tonight". 
It was in one of my playlists, but I'd never heard the song before.  I dropped to my knees like I was hit with a ton of bricks and it ignited every part of my brain and body,  literally changing my metaphysical trajectory.  Immediately after, Tool's "3rd Eye" played as I was walking by my greatroom TV (that was off) and my reflection literally took me to another place. 

If you did a high enough dose, you can likely get a trip and hallucinations regardless of where you're at/what you're doing but really, this should be a medecine used to help guide you down a path of sorts. If taking to go to a festival or something, it's way different than what I suggested above but it's all about what you're looking to achieve. 

Also, worth noting that things like SSRI blockers and alcohol can also contribute to what "dose" might effect you.  Heavy drinkers and/or ppl on meds typically need/can withatand much higher doses due to the damage these drugs have caused.  
Try out this approach and then take it from there.  Listen from your heart and mind, and let your teachers do the rest. May sound corny, but I came here looking for guidance as I had some things that I wanted to address, and by exercising restraint, caution, and respect I feel I'm in a much better place than I was prior to my journey.  
Not everyone has the same intentions, but intent is a big part of it, never the less... And "set (mindset) & (physical) setting" are two of the biggest things you might come across when reading down the rabbit holes. 

Understand them%uD83C%uDF44, respect them, and appreciate what they can offer.  This is just my humble opinion based on a lot of reading, and intent-filled experience.
