Thanks for sharing! I really appreciated that your trips all involved moments of sudden joy upon realizing that you were in good company - either with your wife, or on your way to visit friends/family, or encountering family on your walk home. Something really sweet and endearing about that.
I think psychedelics are a fairly personal experience and I don't want to imply that a trip ought to be some certain way, but I did find it interesting how quickly and clearly you identified many of the "classic" tryptamine sensations - the feelings of deep attachment to very particular places, like sitting under a certain tree or on a certain bench, the heavy anticipation of the onset, the vague "eureka" feeling that often persists during positive experiences, like you've discovered some grand secret.... also, the discomfort of open-eye visuals on faces. Even when I'm radically stoked to run into somebody mid-trip, looking at their face can still make me deeply uneasy. With animals, this effect tends to be the opposite - dogs and cats look downright fucking majestic. Seems like you experienced this same effect. I believe this distinction to be rooted in sexuality - I wouldn't say I'm an especially sexual person, and I'm very rarely aroused during psychedelic experiences, but all the same I can sense a steady recurrence of sexual "impressions" from the people around me, even men (as a solidly heterosexual male myself). I think this has something to do with the sense of alarm that I get from open-eye visuals on people's faces. Almost like it halts the subconscious stream of sexual impressions.
Anyway, I also really appreciated that you could acknowledge the weirdness and occasional discomfort, leave it for what it is, and not let it totally conquer your emotional outlook for the trip. It seems like you've got a really solid head on your shoulders for continuing with some psychedelic exploration - but always be prepared for things to get uncomfortable! It can happen.
