I'm about to have some colonized rye berries and had a question about my fruiting chamber. I'm just using a 34Q bin and planning on putting a black plastic bag in it and filling that with my compost substrate and my rye berries and then topping that off with a layer of casing. My question is, would it be advisable to put a layer of Perlite under the plastic bag to aid with humidity? I live in a very dry climate so humidity is always an issue but I'm trying to keep this grow as inexpensive as possible. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
