For question #2,  I think you mean desiccant.  'Descant' is a term used by classical musicians, and the same word can be used as a verb when someone is talking for a long time about something.

Otherwise, the answer seems correct.  This post was really informative.

There's no real basis to say 180F is some magic number psilocin degrades at, it doesn't work that way. There is evidence that heat can affect stored mushroom potency over a long period of time but plenty of people dry their mushrooms with heat even at relatively high temperatures like 180F and are quite happy with the potency and there's no real evidence to contradict that.

You also mention that a "descant" can be used to dry mushrooms but you fail to mention they should be air dried first and that some desiccants needs to be dried prior to use.  Those are important things to know if you plan to dry them with a desiccant. Simply sticking fresh mushroom in a closed jar with a desiccant is good to way to wind up with rotten mushrooms. If you use a desiccant packet that's already been saturated from being exposed to the atmosphere with your dried mushrooms you're creating a situation where a small increase in temperature will cause them to increase the humidity around the mushrooms.

Also, I fail to see how you can call fresh mushroom stronger and then say you have to eat more to have the same effect.

@Pudgy
400f is the melting point which has to be done in a vacuum because above 180f it is more likely to loose it's phosphoryl group and then oxidize to a non-active compound.

Psilocybin breaks down near 400 F -- I wouldn't tell people the ceiling is 180F.

By "eating more" he is referring to the actual weight. Its easy to confuse with eating more mushrooms. Great information otherwise. Would cat litter be considered a desiccant?

35g fresh is 3.5g when dry but if you eat them fresh its like taking 4g dry so basically hes saying you get an extra .5g dry weight if you take the same amount fresh rather than dry so no typo.

I am no pro yet or anything...
but from personal experience,
I am POSITIVE, that the fresher you eat the mushrooms
the more potent they are
and the LESS you have to eat.
compared to eating completely dried ones.

you should fix that.
some poor kid is going to read that, and engorge her/himself with fresh mushrooms, thinking she/he isnt going to trip very hard,
and possibly have a bad experience, because it is too much/intense.

This confused me, maybe a typo?

"A) Yes, Fresh is stronger, but you will have to eatmore. Eating 35g fresh is like eating 4 g dry. "
