Is it true that that shrooms make a hole in your brain?

There have been no studies to suggest that any of the chemicals contained within any variety of psilocybin mushroom can cause any type of physical damage in the human's brain. what you are thinking of is not a hole in your brain but the use of indorvines to produce the high the psilocybe produces so when you come off of the high your brain is running a little low on some which produces the sight of a hole in your brain if you get a cat scan.

There have been no studies to suggest that any of the chemicals contained within any variety of psilocybin mushroom can cause any type of physical damage in the human's brain. So no, eating mushrooms won't make a hole in your brain.

This rumor began with LSD and migrated to mushrooms with word of mouth and association. The street name "acid" inferred that the drug is in fact corrosive and could thus manifest itself in the brain and burn holes, damaging brain matter.

The "holes" can also refer to Olney's lesions, which are associated with dissociatives such as Ketamine, PCP, DXM and possibly Nitrous Oxide.

This is a myth that has been repeatedly debunked. Try to do your part and correct people when they espouse this "fact" within earshot of anybody who may make the mistake of believing it.
