First Trips.

I aquired my first 1/8th of what I would guess to be Psilocybin cubensis mushrooms in the summer of 1999. The following night I went to an apartment of some friends with the intention of having a light trip. I had never tripped before, so I started out with just a little... two small caps and a few bits of stems in a peanut butter sandwich. I sat for a long time waiting for something to happen... after about an hour I started wondering if I had been ripped off, or if I needed to eat more. I sat for a few more minutes and started noticing that the room looked different. The dimensions of the room seemed to have changed in some way... and I wondered off to explore my new state of mind. At one point I walked into my friends bedroom and saw the corner of his ceiling dripping... the stucco almost looked like stalagmites that you might see in a cave. It seemed so real that I wasn't sure if it was the shrooms, or if that part of his ceiling had always been like that. I noticed that music had added depth and clarity. At that point I put on a wig of some dreadlocks and a colorful tie... I made my friends dress up in silly costumes and we began to act out silly scenes while we played a cast of colorful characters. I highly recommend this while shrooming. I don't know what it would be like at higher doses, but at the point I was at it seemed like I really became the characters I was playing. We laughed a lot and then decided to make a short walk to a local grocery store. As I stepped outside I saw a blue truck... it was then that I realized colors were greatly enhanced and much brighter. The only way I can describe it is by saying that colors were 'electric'. Soon we made it to the grocery store and the colors inside were almost too much to take. I studied the features of many strangers who passed us by as we wondered around the store... everyone looked like some kind of strange cartoon character. After that we walked back and the effects started fading. I'd say it was a very light trip... maybe even less than a level 1. The next day I ate the same amount with me girlfriend. We drove to a fast food restuarant... it was a beautiful sunny day, and as I drove through the rolling hills in the country side I felt as if I was driving through a pleasant cartoon. Colors were bright and things seemed out of proportion. I noticed interesting patterns in carpet and wall paper... and we couldn't stop laughing as I recounted my girlfriend's drunken exploits at a past party. It was a lot of fun. I've tripped lightly once more... I noticed the same things plus a few new effects. Mostly just seeing things out of the corners of my eyes, and some strange bodily sensations. I'm looking forward to tripping soon at a higher level.
