How do I resize a picture?

If you don't know how to resize a picture with the on board computer tools, you can resize a picture easily using the freeware image viewer IrfanView.

1. Download IrfanView from https://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htm

2. Install IrfanView by double clicking the downloaded installation file(iview4xx_setup.exe) using standard installation options.

3. Start IrfanView by clicking the appropriate link in the Start menu.

4. Open the image file you want to resize by choosing File  -> Open from the Menu Bar.

5. Resize the image by choosing Image -> Resize/Resample, then in the appearing window choose the appropriate size and press OK .


6. Choose File -> Save as from the Menu Bar and save the now resized
image.


7. Choose the correct image format to be saved to and the image name.
The JPG format is the best as far as the file size and image quality for photographs.
When the picture is a screen shot GIF and PNG will give smaller and higher quality files.


8. Choose the correct format tab (JPEG, GIF or PNG) and adjust the image
quality to ~70Anything above 70sually just makes the file bigger, but doesn't necessarily make the image look better.



9. Press  Save.
