Two First-Timers!
G'day.
G'day. My girlfriend and I shroomed together for the first time last weekend. Uh... wow. My trip never exceeded 1st (possibly 2nd level), so I guess that really isn't much of a trip. My girl, who took about a 1 1/2 mushrooms more than I did, was a different story.
Since neither of us knew what we were doing, we contemplated long and hard about the best way to take them. We decided to crumble them up and toss them in hot tea, as was recommended by a friend. We each did 1 medium sized mushroom each to be safe. I felt the effects first, reaching the "stoning effect" within an hour. It felt a lot like pot actually, but my girlfriend wasn't feeling anything. Not even two hours into it. So we decided to split another cup of tea. What I didn't know wwas that *she* ate another shroom without telling me when she was brewing the tea.
All this time we had been watching "Fantasia" and "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure," which actually has some pretty menacing images in it when you're tripping (I would only recommend it sober). About half way through "pee-wee," (I guess that's about 2 1/2 - 3 hours after the first dose) my woman starts giggling so hard that tears are streaming down her cheeks. I was in a completely different place and had no idea what she was going through. She told me that everything was moving and that the "colors were different." She also said that Pee-Wee looked like a ghoul, but she didn't seem scared.
After about another thirty minutes, things really became noticable. I had a few mild visual distortions: the entertainment center appeared to be leaning, and my sleeping cat appeared to have big green eyes on the top of his head. Poor guy. My girlfriend really began to get hit by the psilocybin. She was covering her eyes and gawking at the "art inside" her eyelids. She kept saying that she finally understood, and that the meaning of life was not about her, but about the song "Come Together" by the Beatles. I just sat back and watched her, since she seemed to be having a better time. She saw words printed out on our sofa. She had a blast trying to guess which wway our candles were going to flicker. At this point, we were listening to music (Pink Floyd, Beatles, Zeppelin) She would get upset if a song was ending or if the cat was crying, so I pretty much had to babysit her for an hour or two.
Coming down felt kinda shitty. I felt mildly depressed for a couple of days afterwards (I'm on medication for depression, mind you, so this may not be the case for everyone.) My girl seemed fine the next day, and all she kept saying was, "what a weird, cool drug." If I had it to do over again I would take a bigger dose, but it was a new batch of shrooms so we had to be careful.
Hope this entertains someone.
