the last few weekends, i thought i'd found a really good way to take shrooms - making them into a 'tea' with warm water and then adding plenty of orange concentrate to hide the taste and finally putting the tea in the freezer for 15 minutes so it was almost too cold to taste. downing the stuff was really easy but then last week i realised i was having to use about 40-50 dried shrooms to get a medium strength trip, so i decided to try a new method.
i put 20 of the same shrooms in a blender with 2 peeled oranges to make a fruit smoothie. it was really thick and full of bits, and blending it more didn't help, so i just added some water and it was just about drinkable but still tasted strongly of mushrooms. after about 15 mins i knew it was going to be the strongest trip i'd ever had!
it was a lot more than i expected, but it didn't worry me. i had planned to watch a movie, so that's what i did. it was ok, funny in places, but i couldn't remember who any of the characters were meant to be so i couldn't follow the story at all! all the scenery was moving around exactly like in the movie Waking Life, it was pretty freaky.
then at 7pm, the fire alarm of my building went off. i didn't want anyone to know i was tripping, so i just stayed in my room for about 5 minutes hoping it would go off, but it didn't, so i decided to leave and then come back in about half an hour when everyone would be back inside and i could just go to my room quietly. i took my coat, which had my wallet in it, and my room key and left the building thru the fire exit. as i was leaving, i saw someone i knew, so as soon as i got out the door i ran round the corner so he wouldn't get a chance to talk to me when he came out. i waited there for a few seconds to try and decide what to do and then the fire alarm stopped!
that was when i realised i didn't have my swipecard to get back into the building, or even my phone to call anyone to let me in! thinking about it now, i probably would have been ok just slipping back in with everyone else, but at the time i didn't think that would be safe.
i found a phone box but the only number of anyone in my building that i could remember was M's and she doesn't know i trip so it was gonna be kind of awkward, but this was an emergency so i tried to call her anyway. she wasn't home, so i thought it would be a good idea to ride the circle line (london underground train) until the trip ended
and then just get off where i got on, so i went to the station. i waited about 10 mins but no train came so i just left. then i was just wandering the streets for the next hour or so, calling M's number at every phone box i came to without success (i later found out she was away for the whole weekend).
it was a strange experience, because i felt scared and lost, but at the same time it seemed like the greatest adventure of my whole life! it seemed like i was in a movie: all i had was a room key, some money and a phone number and i had to try and get home.. well i wouldn't pay to watch a movie like that either :P but at the time it seemed as exciting as mission impossible! my sense of touch had gone all weird; i could feel something on my skin, it could have been heat, cold, pressure, etc, but i guessed it was cold and i was worried because i couldn't tell how cold it was at all and i thought i might get too cold and get sick.
i bought a drink from a shop i passed and i realised that i had no idea what happened to it as soon as the liquid left my mouth. i could feel it in my mouth and then i swallowed and it was just gone.. i was getting REALLY strange looks from every single person i passed and i've been trying to work out what it was that made me look so weird, i also noticed at one point that i was talking aloud to myself, so maybe i was doing it the whole time and that's why people were looking at me.
anyway, eventually i gave up on M and was trying to remember B's number, so i called what i thought was it, but it turned out to be someone else i knew, A, and he let me in. i then visited B and told him everything that had happened
i really liked some of the visuals i got (strong level 3), but it was the state of mind the shrooms put me in that i liked the most. as i was walking past the shops, i had the 20p coin in my hand that i was using in all the phones, and it had kind of lost it's meaning, it just seamed like a little piece of metal, and i suddenly thought 'hey if i go into any of these shops and give them this little thingy, they would let me have stuff!!'. it seemed like there is so much to experience and i've only done a tiny little bit of it.
shrooms rule and i'm really glad sites like this exist, because i never would have had the guts to get into them if i hadn't read so many positive reports.
