It wasn't like I planned on frying that weekend, but we were calling around to find some pot, and this guy mentioned that he knew where to find some shrooms. so we just said what the hell, bought them, and went out to spend the night at this huge house on steamboat island.
We ate them about midnight, my best friend and I, splitting what we had equally (probably 1-2 grams each). We went out on the deck to smoke a cigarette and wait for the trip to start. In about 40 minutes, we both started feeling kinda tired, and slowed down. Having never done shrooms before, we weren't sure if that meant it was starting or not, but when we started laughing about - well, *anything*, and the walls began turning different colors- by then, we knew it had begun.
We came back in the house, noticing as we did so that our bodies had seemed to turn into rubbery, jello like things. it was somewhat similar to being drunk, the whole not being able to walk situation. so we just sat on the floor and stared at the walls and ceiling for a while. I was tripping all the colors, which by now were becoming patterns of celtic crosses and knots. my best friend was tripping because the wall looked like it was growing.
we ended up reverting back to childhood eventually, running up and down the room, doing cartwheels, eating ice cream out of the carton with our fingers, then smearing the ice cream on the floor. i tried to smoke another cigarette, but was feeling so nauseous that it just made me want to puke.
at one point, the cd player (which had been turned off) suddenly started playing. neither of us had touched it, or were even near it, but it started playing this Natalie Imbruglia song, "left of the middle." that was a trip.
the shrooms wore off in about three hours, leaving us both with raging headaches, and unable to sleep. I came home the next morning feeling like shit, threw up as soon as I got to the bathroom upstairs (had to dodge my mom first!) and then passed out for about six hours.
overall, it was an awesome time, and i think it changed me for the better (enlightenment, etc.) I did it again the next day, although I ate less and thus did not get as many visuals.
