Psilocybe Azurescens, bipolar 2 depression and Wood Lover’s Paralysis

Sedated with heaviness in my arms and legs

My background includes having bipolar two depression. I am on Seroquel and clonazepam. Psilocybe azurescens is the second species I have worked with to check its effects on my depression. The first experience was with golden teacher, which was very positive. With golden teacher, I used two grams dried mushroom in a hot lemon tea and had relief from depression for about four weeks. I just drank the tea after fasting 6 hours and did not ingest the mushrooms.  The experience was warm with colorful undulations. When using azurescens, I used half a gram of dried mushroom in hot lemon tea after fasting 8 hours.   Here also, I just drank the tea and did not ingest the mushrooms.  The effects were quite different from the previous experience. Here I became heavily sedated when “lift off” occurred 30 minutes after drinking the tea.  I was mostly asleep with some vivid colors flashing from time to time. The high was pleasant, but not the sense of well-being I had with the golden teacher.  An hour and a half later, with azurescens, I noticed my arms and legs were very, very heavy. I remained groggy for eight hours, although I was very relaxed. The relaxation was positive. The impact on my insomnia has been  positive. However there was not the same sense of warm well-being and relief from depression that I had with the golden teacher. With azurescens, only half a gram in tea caused extreme muscle heaviness in my arms and legs. I recommend caution when working with this mushroom.
