I had obtained 3.2 grams of psilocybe mushrooms from an aquaintance. This would be my first mushroom experience so I decided to do it in the comfort of my own home. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was confident. I had a friend over for company. I had a little marijuana and he had never tried it before, so he smoked a bowl and I ingested 2.5 grams of the mushrooms. I diced them up and ate them quickly. The taste wasn't bad and I definitely would like to cook with them someday. Anyway, we started off talking about random things and my friend was describing to me how he felt from the marijuana. I knew it would be at least an hour before I started tripping so we began to watch a movie. As the movie progressed, I began to notice things out of the corner of my eye, like something moved or shifted very subtly. I started to realize that things were changing as I began to get the giggles. My friend and I were bored of the movie so I put some Shpongle on and turned off the lights... THAT is when I knew I was altered. In the darkness there were spirals of undefinable color and shapes forming out of nothing. The faint LED from the random electronic devices in the room had halos around them. Every time I looked somewhere, a different shape/scape would form. While I had been staring into the darkness, my friend was dancing around. I decided we should go outside in my backyard. We turned the lights back on and everything seemed to be layered over itself. Like a green layer of the room on top of a red layer, mixing to make a somewhat normal room despite the wobbly edges every now and then. When we got to the backyard, I had the sensation of flatness, like the yard was rolled over or something. My dog's fur seemed to be immense and super fluffy so I buried my face in it a few times. After we went back inside, my friend crashed on the couch and I decided it was time for some meditation. I compiled the trippiest Shpongle tracks on my MP3 player and sat in a comfortable chair in the living room. Lights off and headphones on I began the music. This is when I had the sensation that I was inside a blacklight poster. I saw objects that looked almost like living breathing machines that had some kind of function I would never understand. I saw cartoony yet creepy eyes peering at me from every shadow. This, however, did not frighten me, for they were only watching me, and had no evil intentions. These eyes, living machines, and spirals seemed to dance and operate to the music in my headphones. At last I grew weary of being watched so I turned the lights on. I saw speckles of color in various places and everything had a hint of fluorescent glow even over the normal colors. I decided to call it a night and go to my room. I could not get comfortable for the life of me and the faces of my friend's kept popping into my head and merged with the living machines that kept appearing in darkness. I felt nothing but love and affection for these people, however, a great annoyance/frustration with myself. I had the feeling I was doing something wrong and decided I needed to change myself. I finally fell asleep and woke up exhausted. Ever since then, it feels like something was cleansed from my mind. My conscience seemed purified from this amazing experience and I now feel better about everything in life.. including myself.
