Still the best thread and stuff I have found on the internet about the benefits of mushrooms. One of these days I will have to print it out and pass it out to people, outstanding work collecting it all.

Anyone can purchase the kind of degree he has with a credit card. It is very obvious, upon reading his posts, that his scientific knowledge is almost non-existant (hell, the guy can barely spell).

Where are his degrees from?
Rose Chapel College - it's funny that I can't find any official webpage for this place. Most of the hits come up on geocities. I can't even tell whether or not this place exists, but if you do a search on google for "Rose Chapel College" you get a mere 32 hits. He claims a Doctor of Traditional Medicine and a Doctor of Counseling Psychology from this place. A quick follow up on web searches will lead to sites that sell degrees "based on what you already know." A quick search on Google Scholar will not produce any hits for ANY scientific journal articles published by ANYONE affiliated with this place.

Florida Mycology Research Center (FMRC) College of Basidiomycetes - Google Scholar will produce one self published document. The journal, TMC (The Mushroom Culture) does not appear on PubMed or any other high quality site giving access to science journals. No peer reviewed publications have authors affiliated with the FMRC.

This ridiculous website SELLS degrees. Just find the link and YOU TOO can get a doctorate in whatever they sell. This is from the FMRC:
College of Basidiomycetes”, the Gilled Mushrooms…….Doctor’s Degree Course regularly $500.00 tuition. With this special sale, you only send $200.00!
Doctor’s Degree and One Year’s “TMC” subscription……….$200.00.]

None of these degrees have any meaning.

Furthermore, he has accused me of slander. His rating of me says: Take your stink and rot with it! You suck like the E-coli you supposedly play in, you fake scientist

I am a scientist. If he wants to accuse me of slander he can. However, calling me a fake scientist is a flat out lie.

This guy asked me if I'm educated and suggested that I go to college. Clearly he is the ignorant one, considering I have two undergraduate degrees and am pursuing a PhD in structural biology.
What disgusts me the most however, is what he said to me. After I asked him for evidence of his claims and pointed out that science was all about providing evidence, he said:

Ignorant numb nuts! You spout about science and are wholly ignorant of it in it's current state!

Right. Considering that I am a scientist and that I work in a lab five days a week in order to get my PhD in structural biology, I think I've just demonstrated what a liar this guy is and how misleading all of his posts are. If anyone here has any doubts about my scientific knowledge and know-how, please feel free to ask me questions about physics, chemistry (esp. organic, inorganic, and solid state), biochemistry, molecular biology and structural biology. His rating of me claims that I am lying about this, but I assure you that my BSc in chemistry comes from an accredited university.

I'm sorry if what follows offends the fans of this guy, but most of his posts offer absolutely no evidence whatsoever for any of his claims. Why don't you try being a little skeptical and asking him for evidence of his claims, instead of loving this guy just because he has popular opinions? It doesn't hurt to ask him to back up what he says, but it COULD hurt to consider him a valuable source of knowledge when he doesn't provide a shred of evidence for anything. PLEASE USE YOUR BRAINS AND ASK FOR AT LEAST SOME EVIDENCE.

This person shared the guts of the heart with me and this shows a good person as far as I can tell. Oh and yes there are a few silly scabs around here :crazy:
