The fact that we exist at all is the result of an enormous confluence of events that could easily be called 'coincidence'. Where you seem to think an amazing coincidence like the existence of the psychedelic experience (or the existence of you and me) somehow detracts from how awe-inspiring and valuable these things are, I find just the opposite: I think the "coincidence" of it all makes things such as these even more amazing and profound.

I think it's sheer idealism rather than fact to think that the "family" , for example, who made acid so available for so many years on the dead circuit weren't turning a profit. Nor do I think there's anything wrong with making a little money for one's trouble and the risk and so on; I'm certainly not saying that profit was their motivation - I think its rather obvious that it wasn't. And you won't find me saying anything kind about folks who take advantage of people and are far less interested in sharing a wonderful experience than emptying people's wallets.
Personally, I say spread the love - but I'm not going to hold it against anyone for simply trying to earn back the money they had to invest in order to make psychs available to others in the first place. I do certainly agree with the sentiment that psychedelics should be offered as inexpensively as possible and that individuals who are just out to make a buck have no business peddling sacraments they neither understand nor respect as if they were nothing more than party favors.

I was wondering what this was about, and then I remembered I'd given someone a bad rating (first time I've done that) over stuff he said in that "Flaunting your sexuality" thread that was, from my recollection, pretty bigoted and hostile.
Kind of like the unnecessary hostility here. Even when I rated this guy my comment was at least polite. And if I misread what you said then I wasn't the only one, because another guy who rated you made the same point that I did with my comment. I guess that means I'm not the only "stupid" person around here.
You can't please everyone, of course, so it's about time I got a bad rating =) I'm sure there probably will be others, but you'll always be my first unknown1123 - you never forget your first, you know
