This is the kind of thing I hear so many conflicting things about. Everyone knows about the propaganda & made up stories in the news, and everyone knows about Leary's prostelitizing in public. But how did people generally react to the idea of acceptable use of LSD?
These days, it seems so strange to even THINK about mentioning LSD or mushrooms as an acceptable & legitmate substance for introspection, at least in the media or a public form. It's hard not to get a reaction of total shock in an offended nature. But I think I can remember seeing things in Time magazine which took LSD seriously, or interviews with Leary in which the interviewer was legitmately interested in the subject.
It's just so hard to look back and see how things were because LSD became so quickly filled with propaganda and misinformation. Hell, even these days, because of certain government agencies, we can't really, fully understand LSD.
Oh well, always interesting subject. Anyone have any info?
