Hopefully my last question.. In I believe part 2 of the website, he makes a "glovebox" in order to inject the spores to the jars. Is this necessary or is there an easier way? And is the glovebox truly THAT sterile, it doesn't look as it would be considering he took his arm out of the box to heat the needle? Lol. Thanks guys

Even though it's in the fruiting stage, mycelium will eat through aluminum, especially something as thin as foil.
Rrrrr-ealy? 0_o I've always changed the foil between flushes and dunks and maybe our Brit alu foil is stronger I'm not sure, but eating it isnt much of an issue with squares as I did have with the foil tins.. the 'celium had more of an opportunity with weeks of living in and around in tins and so the risk was greater.. glass or whatever works, experiment, wire racks work too.....

The idea of a glovebox is to cut out air flow > spore flow (mold spores - trich etc) that might be in your home - it would save you the disappointment of a failed attempt as a week or two could pass till you recognize contams..

It's main purpose is to keep spores/bacteria from floating in and landing in/on your equipment/jars during inoculation.
It's highly recommended for most people.
I make my own jar lids with injection ports and I flame sterilize/alcohol wipe everything every few jars so I don't worry about a glovebox. I would LOVE to have a flow hood though ;-D

You can compare 'strains' of cubensis to different races, black, white, asian, latin, indian, etc. We're all basically the same on the inside but we look different on the outside. Same goes for cubes. You can actually mix strains together in the same jar if you want, generally it doens't matter.
The only real exception to the rule is the penis envy strain.

I dont even use alcohol anymore. I just flame the needle. No cleaning the lids or the needle after flame sterilization. Ive never used gloves let alone a glove box. n I mixed some PE with another cube strain it did amazing. Just because its a sub-cube doesnt mean you cant mix it.

Well, if I don't cool the needle it'll melt and fuck up my injection ports.

Thanks so much guys. You've all shed so much light, I'm confident now that ill do fine and they'll grow nice and big =] quick question though, again.. Haha. After my cakes are in the terrarium, do I have to air it out(given there are drill holes everywhere) or spray it daily? I couldn't find those small steps in the videos. Thanks guys!

Spray it a few times a day, but only sparingly, if you can get an old CPU fan and hook it up to an old 12v adapter on a timer - i have mine on 15mins every 3 hours - or just fan it with something.. the humidity stays around 95%... GL with your new hobby!

If you want to prevent them from sporulating all over the cakes/trays, pick them just before the veil breaks. If you are headed for prints, let the cap open all the way. They come in random sizes, especially with MS grows, so there isn't any "right size" at which to pick them.

For PF cakes in glass, you want half-pint wide mouths.
Pints will often compact and take FOREVER to colonize. I had a couple sit around for 2 months :-(

I can get a computer fan, that's easy should I get one or two? Is any size better than the other or it doesn't matter? Also, where might I be able to find a 12v adapter and what kindof timer? Is there a guide that I can find or you have to tell me or just post here? Thanks much!

Ok If you are using BRF cakes, you might want to break them up after they colonize. the substrate that you are adding will help thwe mycelium to grow a little better. That is up to you if wish to add this.
OI don't know what FC you are using but a Martha works great.
Good luck.

I'm doing exactly what the guys on Mushroomvideos.com did. Step by step. I was thinking, I'm gunna use both syringes if space provides.. That's roughly.. 20 cakes? I'll leave 5 Puertos and 5 Z's in cake, and I'll break up 5 PR's and 5 z's and put them in a tin, but how exactly do I do that? With the baking tins, Break them up, but do I add verm to them or something? Idk. o.O

How little? I was thinkin like quarter sized chunks, maybe the dize of those 25cent gumballs? Also, would it fruit more if I put 10 cakes(to grow) and 10 into tins? Or would it yield more as all tins? What do you guys think with all your knowledge? Also, I was thinking in my terrarium I could leave cups of water maybe 2 inside the trm. To keep humidity and water in the air? What do yall think?

I think some people use a cheese grater.
If the cakes are not compacted you can roll between your hands and crumble. If they're compacted get a clean cutting board and a knife and have at it for a minute.
Are you gonna add any bulk substrate or just crumble & case?

You can use your crumbled cakes as spawn to inoculate another substrate, commonly called a 'bulk substrate'.
It adds another few steps and a layer of complexity, but it also can increase your yields significantly.
Commonly used bulk subs are: Compost Straw Coffee Coco Coir Manure of any 'grazing' type animal (horse, sheep, cow etc.)
Like, for an easy way to start out you could save your used coffee grounds for a week or two then mix that along with some vermiculite in with your crumbled cakes.
If you have easy access to manure (any horse farms nearby?) you can use that too. My mom brings me a bucket of poo every so often and I use it as an additive to my monotubs.
