Not all of us are like the OP.
OP, don't do to others that you wouldn't want done to yourself, or someone you care about. The thought of killing some random person for fun is sickening. That person is the family member, friend, or lover of another person.
Would you mind if somebody killed one of your family members? They were merely expressing their "animilastic desires" or whatever bullshit you come up with. You're sick in the head and you need help before you kill some innocent person.

He's a sociopath. That's all. Guys, this type of behavior is actually not super-rare. Its uncommon, and dying out compared to human society hundreds and thousands of years ago, but it's still present. Some people cannot think above their reptilian brain and are completely without empathy. They think on small mind and self-pleasure, and do not think with big mind, societal mind. They relate only to the smallest unit of existence that they are a part of, its a very cellular state of living. Evolution has slowly but surely weeded this mindset out, though, as empathy ensures the collective survival of our species. The brain is typically not wired for sociopathic behavior, and society teaches from an early age socio-empathetic behavior, to preserve the human societal organism as a whole. Cells, humans like this freak, are a cancer, a mutation, one which will probably destroy others. However, the societal organism has its own response system to inoculate society against people like this, and this is why the mindset is dying out. Kudos to all of you antibodies, anti-sociopaths who have posted here  You're doing your job as fellow human beings.

our societies response to people like this is to make them police officers and bankers and political leaders, not to protect itself against them.

18, we've selected against physical sociopathic behavior. Competition is still a part of who we are though. However, competition is not sociopathy, as there is wealth to be gained through competition, whereas sociopathy is the complete lack of empathy regardless of gaining from the sociopathic act. Competition is what drives evolution forward, not what evolution selects against. Sociopathy is in competition with empathy, and it would seem that empathy is by far winning, as is evident at societies outrage when a police officer shoots another guy in the back, or when a mass murderer shoots up a school. Sociopathy is also less desirable a trait in a mate.

yeah because of empathy, we wiped out hunger and dehydration and everyone on earth has medicine. Unlike when we used to sit around watching soldiers kill each other on TV like it was a sports game.
we haven't selected against sociopathic behavior, we've mutated it so that sociopathic behavior is channelled into more appropriate areas. That is all we've done.

Yes, as a global organism, we are still operating on small mind, on a reptillian brain version of our larger, greater self. The global organism of humanity is still fractured, we have multiple countries fighting against each other for no reason but that we want what they have or we want them not to have something we have. We are evolving in a way that points towards unification though, points towards empathy rather than sociopathy... nations are merging, political systems are merging, economic systems are merging, and the coming green energy revolution should provide some big steps in that direction. On a componential level though, the human being, the ultimate small mind in the societal organism, has stamped out sociopathic behavior in order to FORM a society.

humans haven't stomped out sociopathic behavior. Corporations are required by law to display sociopathic traits. Our society is founded on sociopathy, not on stamping it out.
there is so much more to being a sociopath then cold blooded murder. your narrow view of sociopathy means you don't appreciate how instrumental it is in shaping society.

There's emotional gain. What some people see as success, like gaining money and power, is not necessarily what nature sees as success. Nature is mainly for the production of viable offspring. Sociopaths are poorly equipped to deal with raising offspring, nor would they usually care to try. They are also far less capable of having meaningful relationships which lead to the production and care of children. All this makes them less likely to breed successfully and when they do, they don't take the time to teach their children, so their mentality is less likely to be continued and their children are less likely to be successful. They also take more risks which makes it more likely for them to fail, once again ending their genetic line.
