I don't think Rush is bad or anything, sometimes I think it's like.. the DND playing nerd rock of all that classic-ish pre-80s metal stuff.

Maybe I'm crazy but that girl gets on my nerves. Especially with that new song they did with the Numa Numa music. That's one of the most terrible pieces of shit excuses for music I've ever heard, right up there with crap they're playing on the top 40 stations right now. I know every time I go into a place to eat or something on my lunch break, they're playing that garbage.. along with stuff by Pink and some guy called Rehab, who writes horrible songs about living in a trailer park.

I used to love blink 182, sum 41, you know sell out punk rock, back around '00-'01. Any of their newer stuff sucks but the older shit really captured my pissed off teenage feelings when I listened to it back then. I think that's what they were going for.

How stupid is to be embarassed by what you like? I swear I used to like songs like Under My Umbrella by Rihanna 'cause I enjoyed them at the disco so they reminded me of those good times. Art is a so subjective matter that you just can't be embarassed if you really enjoy something.

i'm not a huge fan or anything, but about 6 months ago i discovered this song that i absolutely love. i knew who was singing it as soon as i heard it. her sexy voice and tiny body just really do it for me. plus, the way she rolls her r's when she speaks really turns me on.

Interpol... My old roommate showed me the PDA video, so I downloaded the song to my computer. I had my music on shuffle and it played the PDA song, but I couldn't stand to listen to it all the way through. I think the only part of the song that I liked was the "sedated" part.

I guess I'm lucky, I'm really not embarrased about any of the music I listen to.
With my group of friends we can be listening to Pantera, Biggie Smalls, Baha Men, Cattle Decapitation and James Brown within a half hour period. We're all random fucks and enjoy the hell out of it.

Yeah, I've been listening to Tool a fair bit recently after several years spent talking mad shit about them. I guess I wouldn't find it embarrassing to like Tool if I hadn't already been making fun of other people for it for so long.

I was actually the same way. Upon first hearing them I made fun of them because of how weird and alien they sounded.
It was almost like I couldnt understand how people got any enjoyment out of that.
But then one day I was like, holy shit, this is what music is really all about.

I've listened to Tool for a long time, not really into them since I started psychedelics (odd i guess) but since I started doing psychedelics I can't get enough of the Dead

I always talked shit about tool because they struck me as sludgy and whiny, a perception that I still stand by. It was dead on, they are sludgy and whiny as fuck. And yet I do like their soundscapes these days.
The Dead are great, though they also took me a while to catch onto. They sound like really boring ordinary music at first, then you realize you can get high just from listening to them.

I never understood why people liked the Dead,
then I heard Truckin', and it was love at first sight.
I used to be the biggest Tool fan, then I tried listening to them on LSD and I was like man.. these guys kind of suck..
I like some of their songs though still.

Whoa, Bjork is nothing to be ashamed of
I listen to Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill now and then
And I have enjoyed an Oasis song once or twice
-------------------- Welcome evermore to gods and men is the self-helping man. For him all doors are flung wide: him all tongues greet, all honors crown, all eyes follow with desire. Our love goes out to him and embraces him, because he did not need it.

I can't see myself listening to Tool on acid. That was a big factor in me talking shit about them. I still just don't understand how they're so big among acidheads. I can only see myself becoming depressed and cranky as a result of listening to them on drugs. And I didn't start enjoying them until I had been off psychedelics in general for the better part of eight months.
I don't actually speak from experience though, never listened to them while tripping. I'll have to try them next time.
As for the Dead though. It was one album that solidified my love.
Fucking beauty. If avatars were way bigger this would be mine right now.

i just found a song called "Gypsy Woman" by Crystal Waters, it's mad 90's, mad cheesy, but i've been playing it a lot every day, it's just one of those quick catchy ones that'll wear off though, lol

I used to like Tool until they made the same album that they made the last time they made the same album. Every time they make a damn album it's the same album, really.
I still think the Deftones are dope, and I like Nick Drake on the days I wanna let go of hope. Wilco is great and Ice-T is still clever and no matter what its ALWAYS Wu-Tang forever.

OK, while all of the other bands in this thread I can somewhat understand....THIS is truly something to be embarrassed about...VERY embarrassed about in fact!
Soldier boy is seriously the gayest musical fad I can even think of in the past decade...

I feel the same way about the Grateful Dead.
So strange! I've always talked mad shit on tool and the greateful dead but within the past couple of months, I have discovered that I absolutely love them and can't understand why I didn't see in the music what I see in it now.
