The Helix is that cool little "braid" looking thing under MY CURRENT MOOD. It represents the fact that you are signed up for the "Folding @ Home" program and is an actual link to my the current stats of that user. Click on my Helix!

If you happen to have a PS3 just set the Team Number to 12679 and watch that motherfucker fill up faster than shit.
Personally I only have um... 3 (2 dual core) CPU's and 4 GPU's operating on it and mine dont fill up for shit, but I have witnessed this with a friends PS3 and his shroomery account here.
You can always select to do the smaller jobs if you wish too to get the helix to show up but yes fungiamongi2 is correct... 2 work units

so speaking hypothetically : is it for real, ur computer gets used by some other organization ??
wot is to say they are who they are, could it be some government secret services or the like ??
just curious, i dont like the thought of some1 else snooping in my comp (not that i have nethin to hide)
does it work on the xbox 360
-------------------- next time i order a pizza i'm gonna ask them to cut it into 6 slices instead of 8, because i was'nt fit for 8 the last time !!

There's no snooping or anything like that - I just looked at it real quick, and basically you're just contributing your computer's resources to help solve whatever it is they're doing.

No, the only traffic you should see from folding home is when it downloads the core for simulating and the project and once yo finish a WU it uploads the results.
The files artn that big.
Noobie, the number you entered is the shroomery team. You dont need to put in the name.

Correct me if I'm wrong noobie, but the instructions fail to tell you to: Click account in the top left, scroll to the bottom and click edit on the 3rd to last option that says "Personal information, email, password, etc."
Then scroll down and fill in your folding@home name and click submit. This will give you the helix on the boards.
