go to a asian jewelery shop and ask them to sell you some gold bars.. you can check the stock on how much they are daily on www.kitco.com .i bought a few bars last week and now price has gone up. i'm going to wait till it reaches 950+ then go back and sell it.

Buy silver.
But if you must buy gold buy small coins for spending money when the dollar tanks as it surely will.

Bars have to be assayed because only a fool will buy them otherwise. Buy gold coins, the 1oz kreugerand is the cheapest, usually. Yes, gold will go up. I bought it when it was in the 400 dollar range and a little when it was over 500. I could sell now at a profit but have no intention of doing so. The dollar will tank.

The thing that always makes me lol in these threads is people compare investing gold to holding cash. Hello! - nobody invests in cash, its purpose is not to be an investment. Its a medium of exchange and that is all. People say its not a good investment; no shit. Its not supposed to be an investment. Nobody holds cash, except for a few months pay for emergencies. That way, if the dollar tanks as everybody here is sure will happen, you dont lose out on life savings.

Gold isn't an investment either. It's usually a gamble, at most a hedge.

I wouldn't touch stocks with someone else's money right now. Wait until the new quarter gets rolling so you can see how much bad news the markets can digest first.
As far as gold, you can buy or sell futures in gold with numerous dealers. Check out some of the ones on the net. A lot of them actually have a demo so you can learn to trade futures or forex in real time with play money. Get to know technical analysis, because in futures and forex it's extremely key.
Right at this particular moment gold is at a point where it could go up or down significantly. I'm betting on down because I think demand will be poor and other safe haven investments will be sought after if economic news is bad and equities are performing poorly. I'll show you a chart in a bit. Let me prepare it.

That's a flag pattern. Most of the time it's a trend continuation pattern. Thus, a continuation of the 600 to the 1000 move and the 1000 to 850 run is a period of consolidation. If the prices break the resistance line and volume spikes, i'd get on board and would buy gold. But if equities continue to slide, the dollar will rise in value as a safe haven investment and gold will probably sink. Most of the time gold and the dollar move in opposite directions.

quite frankly,
I mean saying this ( go stocks) and that ( go gold)....it really does not matter?
why?
Unless you have 100,000 USD to invest... I mean its quite pointless
and Unless you are apart of the Bank Ogliarchy ( SEE FEDERAL RESERVE, SEE JP MORGAN, SEE BANK OF AMERICA)
it all does not matter...UNLESS.... It is REAL ESTATE
