first off. infinate caps? why even play a game if you can't do it legit?

thats like playing with godmode... can't lose so its boring as fuck.

plus fallout 3 is fucking easy. this is what i wrote on the other thread:

Quote:

skcorrelyt said:
its actually a lot like an over the shoulder version of fallout should be...

the only relationship with oblivion i've noticed... was that all the items can sit on shelfs and be knocked around.. and that picking locks is similar... (what with "FORCE LOCK") but otherwise its not too too much like oblivion.

it lacks a sorta fallout feel. it doesnt have as GOOD gritty humor as the old fallouts but its not dissapointing.

the 2 worst things i have to point out are random encounters don't exist anymore and that you can't kill children or characters tied into the "story"

otherwise its pretty fun.. way too easy though.

my friend beat it and said you could beat the main story in 1 day if you dont do side quests.

nothing like fallouts 1 and 2... which were fucking hard as shit...
fallout 3 is so easy its ridiculous.. i even turned difficulty up and i'm killing SUPER MUTANTS with 1 or 2 shots to the head..

whatever though. in my opinion its worth buying. its pretty fun.

i agree with both posts.  I do find the game difficult though im not a big rpg person so finding my skill niche is really causing me to grind along.

i do see this game taking about over a month to complete.

i do miss the original fallouts but this game does make a respectable addition to the namesake.

i recomend buying it

caps can be a real problem. i recommend returning to places where you kill everyone and taking their armor if you're really strapped.

i also recommend starting the game with a high SCIENCE skill. I didn't and had to make up for it with perks and shit like that.

it IS fun. my friend beat the main story and said you could complete it in a day if you tried.

but the point of the game is working your way up to the main story.. hasn't it? wasn't side stories/jobs always the BEST part of fallout? the freedom? i think so.

i do not disagree that they did NOT do the fallout name bad.
i do enjoy this game.

i just hope they keep going and learn along the way.

So ive been playing for three days now, im about 75% the way through it, AWESOME so far, but i read that it ends when you complete the main quest as in thas it.... no more.... like a plain old play it and trade it game.....

I loved oblivion because once you beated it, you could go back and get the cheers from people and have a statue after you and keep questing till the end of time!

But i may just be mad now that fallout isnt similar, i dont want to beat it in 2 more days and then boom,  70 bux gone!

any thoughts?

its one of those games you can play multiple times.

idk if you can keep going... you could in fallout 1 + 2.. idont see why you shouldnt be able to in this one.... oblivion was even like that...

ridiculous bullshit if you can't but... whatever, really.
i'm playing as the good guy then as the bad guy then i usually get bored of games anyway..

You could continue on in Fallout 1? I vaguely remember a giant battle, end of all days situation, then the game was over.

Ya i remember you could continue in most of the games, but im reading in diff. places from people who have beaten it that it ends...

i understand bethedsa saying you can repeat the game and it will be totally diff.... but i dont believe that, you still have to do most of the same quests, and for some reason i really really love sandbox games, I feel if you pay 60-70 dollars for a game you should get your money's worth and so far the only games I have played in which I've felt this are Gta IV ,  Oblivion  , Halo ''just because of the online value..''

But hey either way its an awsome game, i'll keep everyone posted on the ending details

Welp game beaten!

I am so very sad now though, one of the shortest games i have played to date!

beat in a total of 9 hours

didnt see half the map, or cities or people or anything

So if your gonna play the game, rent it!!!
and for long time value, you cant complete the main quest! you gotta avoid it...

i just cant believe a bethesda game in which you cant continue on and do the like 50 + extra quests still left...
almost sems like a glitch

Kinda weird. Bethesda is usually all about being able to explore and get everything done.  Oh well, i'm gonna get it and play it while it lasts. Fallout are great games and i love Bethesda. So yeah, lets hope i have fun while it lasts.

Oh yeah no doubt about it, maybe that was my downfall!.... i was so hooked on it i played 9-10 hours in just 1 1/2 days, an absolutely amazing game, the combat is great the gore is top notch and the story is deep, just wayyyyyy tooooo short, and ya shoulda been continued after game ending

But definitly a PLAY though

What I remember is that when you finished the main quest in the other games it was the end as well.  I haven't played this game yet but it is cool to see certain traditions and references from the past games of series for sure.

happy birthday.

in fallout1 you can contineu i remember that much.

in fallout3 (i beat it some time ago) if you are the "GOOD" guy you sacrifice yourself and because you are dead, you cant continue. doing the bad thing now..

but i'm going to beat every quest first...

all the bad way.

bad way was tougher to start out cause i didnt start with any weapon skills but energy weapons.. and they're scarce.. then i realized the games so ridiculously easy that i can use small weapons and large weapons too without any skill ahaha.

but i'm playing parts on the main quest now that didn't happen the first time...

it sent me to a different place and part of the map ENTIRELY..

and i'm not EVIL yet, just neutral.. so many different games seems possible just not probable.

it changed my quest on me.. i thought i was going to be somewhere else(like the first playthrough) but it sent me in another direction. idk what the hells going on but its cool as fuck.. encountered 3 new types of enemies that i missed during the first play through... weird.

i respect that and whole-heartedly apologize for accidentally giving it away.

happy birthday.

Thanks!! :>

Finally got this game in console and loving it!  The world is so large.  I never played Oblivion so I'm just having a crazy great time exploring around haven't really got to knock out many quests or work on the main storyline much yet.  I have the next two weekends off so I'm looking forward to putting in some serious time with this game.
