The way I understood it sercurom doesnt actually install itself. I was told it runs only when the game installs and after that the only DRM is a dvd check. Doesnt help but...

The irony is delicious.  DRM is fucking stupid.

I'm getting it for Xbox anyway though

I remember when Mass Effect came out for PC, and tons of people who bought it had huge problems with the anti piracy shit on it.

I downloaded the game and never had any problems with it what so ever. :hehehe:

i rented it for ps3 last night.  This type of game isn't really my style anymore, but i guess if you liked oblivion you'd be a fan of this.  I'm stuck in minefield right now lol.

its actually a lot like an over the shoulder version of fallout should be...

the only relationship with oblivion i've noticed... was that all the items can sit on shelfs and be knocked around.. and that picking locks is similar... (what with "FORCE LOCK") but otherwise its not too too much like oblivion.

it lacks a sorta fallout feel. it doesnt have as GOOD gritty humor as the old fallouts but its not dissapointing.

the 2 worst things i have to point out are random encounters don't exist anymore and that you can't kill children or characters tied into the "story"

otherwise its pretty fun.. way too easy though.

my friend beat it and said you could beat the main story in 1 day if you dont do side quests.

nothing like fallouts 1 and 2... which were fucking hard as shit...
fallout 3 is so easy its ridiculous.. i even turned difficulty up and i'm killing SUPER MUTANTS with 1 or 2 shots to the head..

whatever though. in my opinion its worth buying. its pretty fun.

What about the massive open world, the ability to inventory basically everything, the way you have to buy/repair, sell items.  Or i could go into how the fighting system is relatively the same (although im not sure oblivion had the targeting system FO3 does), how about the sleep/wait feature to kill time.

Fallout 3 is oblivion with guns in a post apocalyptic setting.  Storyline is different, world is different, but the basic game mechanics and feel of it is the same.

I whole-heartedly agree with you coda.  Fallout 3 is solid, but as a post Fallout 1&2 game, I feel it fails pretty bad.  It has much more in common with Oblivion than the old Fallouts.

Well it is made by a different company. And i'm pretty sure it was made on the same engine as oblivion.
