This thread makes me wanna go buy a kickass blade of the sorts. I need an everyday blade bad. I also think it would be kinda cool to start collecting them almost. Sweet knives though for sure. I wanna get one of those spyderco ones they look pretty nice!

Both custom pieces from ML knives, a great guy who forges blades in NY. They get some work.

Next is a piece from Grayman: http://www.graymanknives.com/ Dude is an old green beret making awesome knives.

is a link to the knife i carry, have had it for about 6 years now, has been great. I love the assisted opening on it, though I'm worried a cop may think it is illegal if he ever searches me and checks it out closely.

I usually carry my kershaw (speed assist) on myself at all times I forget what model it is but the seraded portion is great for fishing, which I do a lot. I do have a homemade forge and anvil on my porch and have been trying to make some pieces but I really need an instructor. I have been to forge shops and those shops are works of art in itself, badass forges and quality anvils. The work they produce is just amazing.

Naw, most LEO's I've met like to carry assisted-openers, especially if they're first responders. I doubt a cop would harrass you.
Might steal it though.

Yeah, usually carry my Spyderco Endura 4
 Or my Buck Whittaker

Both of these can hold an extremely sharp edge, the Spyderco is pretty easy to get a razor edge that holds for a pretty long time.
I have a bunch of other cheap knives and ones that I have made myself. Need to get back into making my own.

I like the grayman warranty
Quote:
Your Warranty goes like this: Free sharpening anytime. You pay postage to me, and I'll sharpen her up and send her right back. If you break it (yeah right) send it back and I'll fix or replace it post haste. If you don't like it because it's ugly (like me), or your wife hates it, or the little voices in your head tell you to send it back, zip it back to me for a prompt refund. If you sell it, give it away, or will it to a family member or fave charity, the warranty goes with it.

Yup. The guy is solid, and his knives are certainly built for abuse. I've been seeing a few at work, and I might spring for one.
Either that or something by Bill Harsey. He makes good steel too.

The guys who taught the edged combatives from "The Hunted."
Just in case someone actually wanted to learn how to pull a knife and not get shanked. I spent a day with them in a combatives clinic @ Bragg. interesting work, but most "elite combatives instructors" are out for the buck, not the training.

That Nature is not simply the random flight of atoms through electromagnetic fields. Nature is not the empty, despiritualized lumpen matter that we inherit from modern physics. But it is instead a kind of intelligence, a kind of mind."
