You answered some of this when you said processed foods.

Yes, the world would be so much better off without doctors. Get real.

I wish someone would start doing a campaign against fast food... like those truth ads, for lack of a better example.

yea...I agree.
Eating fast food is probably not much better than smoking. Those foods can really fuck up the heart.

I've seen a couple clever ones against fast food- unfortunately they were Subway... which, is just as bad. I bet their bread has HFCS.

There was a bit of a campaign going a while back when the movie Supersize Me came out. McDonalds (at least here in Australia) revamped their menu a lot, making it a lot more healthy, and they now display the nutritional content of their food on the wrapping (and in store). And then the competing chains had to do similar things (well, except Hungry Jacks - Burger King to you guys) And then there was Jamie Oliver's campaign. It seems to be helping, the childhood obesity rate here hasn't changed in the last six years. It hasn't decreased, but at least it's not getting worse.

you don't care for the rest of humankind? or that these "fatties" who are generally lazy in every other facet of life are passing this lazy way of life to their children, who are the future?

i have the tendency to express my concern with the unnaturalness of neraly everything in todays society. i remember reading a study that reported out attention spans are being programmed by the mindless and overwhelmingly present activity of watching tv. commercials run roughly every fifteen minutes. i could see electronic use directly related to mental disorders. kids become accustomed to passively tuning in for repeated durations. i think i vaguely hit the point im trying to express but im having trouble coherently elaborating on this idea. no one is capable of understanding the true meaning of natural patterns found in our reality. lifeforms have been developing through sensory perception capabilities for millions of years. could it be possible that over the last few decades we have removed ourselves from observations of the more natural surroundings of mother earth and the cosmos which would definately impact our survival as wel as healthy rhythms . analyzing filming as one aspect of the new world of communication and information fills me with concern. the natural continuity of events becomes completely disrupted. camera angles, panning, movement, filters and the hundreds of other technical procedures leave the human being in the midst of chaos. our natural reactions must be influenced by how time is experienced through technology. our perspective on our capabilities becomes inundated with patterns of artifical color and space.
i think there alot more to this but im having trouble articulating more important observations.

I'm sorry, but aside from a bottle of water, there is nothing healthy on the McDonald's menu.
I *HATE* salads at fast food restaurants. They advertise them to be healthy, or at least make it look like healthy-conscience people buy them.
The salads are made with iceberg lettuce, which has no nutritional value or vitamins, compared to say baby spinach or even romaine.
They top them with chicken that's either breaded and fried or "grilled" (read: covered in salty seasoning and thrown on the same griddle that the burgers are cooked on), a TON of cheese, croutons, bacon bits, and fattening dressings.

Don't get me wrong, I'd never eat at a fast food chain, but compared to what the menu used to be, McDonald's has come a long way. Low-fat yoghurt instead of ice cream, that sort of thing.

I agree with most all of the statements here.
ALL HUMAN DECISIONS SHOULD BE MADE UPON THE INDIVIDUAL.
So what if our children are suseptable to evil, what has changed in the past thousand years? Our lax in teaching?
If we are afraid we need not fear more than our own laziness.
Medicate and they will submit, brainwash and they will be under control. In time, we the controllers will be able to have the lives that they wish. HA....

I hear yea man, but the fast food shit shouldn't have this much influence on children, especially if their fucktard parents can't make correct decisions for them.
Fuck it, at least I know what is bad for me.

I said this a LONG time ago.
I also said if cigarette companies had to stop advertising to kids the fast food should stop too. No more clowns and cartoons pushing happy meals. no more toys in happy meals. no more playgrounds.
Have you ever seen a small child at McDonalds?
They don't really eat the whole happy meal. They just want to be there for the toys.
They even have toys for kids under 3. Talk about getting them while they're young!

Yet if you suggest the government bans advertising fast food to kids, you get accused of promoting a "nanny state". But the way I see it, it's not about the government telling us what to feed our kids, it's about stopping the corporations from telling us what to feed out kids.
