ive got close to 40 grand in hospital bills. i aint paying a dime of that shit. they can fuck themselves...

if i cant buy it with cash, i dont want it. fuck credit. its the stupidest system ever. here, spend money you dont have. ya, that makes sense.

I'm not sure what your $40K in hospital bills are for...  But hypothetically speaking, given your statement it sounds as if you will refuse future life-saving treatment if you don't have the cash to pay for it.  Would you rather die than use credit to save your life?

what about interest rates etc? the money you borrow doesnt come with out some extra added to the bill, as far as im aware of. if im wrong, please enlighten me.

If you intend to finance a large purchase over time (such as a 30 year mortgage for a new home), then yes you will pay "rent" in the form of interest for the extended period of time you use to pay off your debt.  Credit cards are a different story, and can be easily managed to work for your benefit.  Some cards carry an annual fee, but the vast majority will not.  There is a grace period on all credit cards.  If you pay off your bill within that (typically one-month) period, you will not incur any interest, penalty, or finance charges.

The way I have it setup, I have a group of credit cards each carrying different benefits.  My Amex gives me 3% cash back from restaurants, 2% cash back from all travel related expenses, and 1% cash back on everything else.  My Discover gives me 5% cash back on all auto related expenses (including gas).  My Mastercard gives me 2% cash back on all grocery store purchases, and 4% cash back on all Best Buy purchases.  My Amex business card gives me 5% cash back on all FedEx shipments (which really adds up as I operate an online retail store which ships with FedEx), as well as 5% back on gas purchases.

I keep close watch of my finances and don't spend more than I have.
Therefore I payoff my cards in full each month, and pocket all the reward savings.
In other words, I'm getting paid to use credit!

PS.  Happy Birfday! :sun:

PPS.  For all the hippies about (not claiming anyone specific - but there's got to be a few in here as there are a lot of replies to this thread), I imagine some of you have some sort of belief in "karma" or "what goes around comes around", or perhaps a concern about the potential collapse of our government and economic systems... and yet you can be so quick to ignore debts that you yourself have acquired?  Economies are prone to greater failure when people are constantly cheating and abusing the system -- which is exactly what you are doing if you willfully neglect to pay off your debts.  Your failure to pay results in higher costs for those who do pay, in the form of increased premiums, taxes, or general pricing.

So to anyone out there who actually wants to default on their debt, fuck you!

This thread was moved from The Pub.

Reason:
As you've already received a lot of Pub-related opinion, let's put this thread where it belongs.
