I went for a mushy hunt.... [Re: spasticated]

Got nothing, but i say its looking pretty fucking promising around here (towlringer). My mushy spots are all fairly moist already, even in late avo. There is plenty of other wood-loving shrooms about.

I would say that in mid to late Autumn the first shrooms will start arriving. And holy crap, i cant believe its autumn already!

Only a matter of weeks now everyone. So, get out there and start looking as often as possible and make sure to let us know if you find anything! Nothing worse than missing out on good-shrooms

I know a spot reliable for finding weraroa, where i found many last season so i went to check today. Plenty of amanitas around but not much else. It hasnt rained for a fair while so the first big southerly of the autumn should turn up some nice ones i reckon!

I've been keeping an eye out around hamilton but nothing yet...although the last couple of weeks or so I have seen some non-actives so they can't be far off...we just need some rain!

Christchurch has only had just over half the average rain fall for this month(march). So lets all pray for a nice southerly front to come through a dump a load of water.

i went for a nosey down south there were thousands of mushrooms non active that i know of apart from amanitas, growing among some pines i never knew how many differnt kinds of fungi you could find, really freaky looking things. i cant wait to find some actives and get reaquainted with my old friends libs, but just finding all the crazy fungi about is a trip in itself

We got sick of the wait, so we watered one of our best patches with over 100Litres of water, so it should give it a kick start.

I cant wait till i go on google and find on the weather forecast 'heavy rain; heavy rain; heavy rain' lol! That'd be a real treat, it seriously is so dry in auckland atm, my lawn is starting to crack and the creek has dried up. Damn it, why is it never like this when you actually want it to be but when you want mushies to start popping up its strait sunshine with no clouds for weeks on end. :frown:

Anyone in Wellington keen to meet up when it finally starts fuckin' raining and go on a great expedition for mushrooms of the magically psychoactive variety?

Anyone know any good hunting partners in the Auckland area to talk about the weather and ask for patch locations? By the way what mushrooms grow in my area?

I'd say it would be unlikely people will share their favorite spots for Subaeruginosa's, considering a bark garden full of them is like coming across a treasure chest. I've noticed they grow in council bark gardens and often there will be many patches in one area (1 square km, approx). Also they only grow in a certain type of bark in my experience, so take note of that too.

I'm definitely keen to go hunting with someone in Wellington, I've met some good folks from the shroomery in the past.

No finds yet anyone? It's still a bit early.

Cool. I've added you on MSN.. assuming you have MSN and I haven't just added your email address.

Anywho, I reckon it'd be fun to have a big Shroomery hunting entourage some time actually during the season. Anybody else who's game post here, then when we know what's happening, we can do the whole exchange of phone numbers, and finally a time and place for a meeting.

I'll bring some of my IRL friends as well (yes, I have friends off of the Internet. >.> <.<)
