Did I just sell to an informant?

A friend of mine asked me to hook up his "friend". ok... I need the money. He's like, what's the largest you can do? An ounce? half? no, don't got that much, all's I got is a quarter.
Ok, his friend will take it.
I get there and my friend is like, this is who wants it. Ok, I hand him the quarter, he gives me $, asks if I got a scale so he can check. No, I don't carry that sort of thing.
Then he starts asking about if I can get him more than an ounce, and about if this came from a quap or maybe if I get a pound at a time. No, I don't do anything like that.
Meanwhile I just get that gut feeling, a vibe so to speak. Why is this stranger asking this shit? He asks me what I get normally, how much it costs, etc.
My friend isn't that intelligent, so I wouldn't expect him to be smart enough to pick up on narc-like behavior. Still, he said it was his "friend" but it seems now this kid was only his ride home from school.
Now I'm worried. Fuck informants. I don't care if this kid isn't a narc, I got a bad feeling about it.

Sounds like the guy doesn't have any hook-ups for weed, and neither do any of his other friends. His friends probably want bud too, so he's trying to find a dealer so he can make some money off his friends. Its impossible to know what his motivations are, but if the cops wanted to get you on dealing charges they've already got you. No need to ask questions, etc.

Good point. I checked with my friend and he's pretty sure dude is cool. He just wanted to be sure he was getting a good deal, and wanted enough to help out his friends.
I told my friend I won't deal with this person because they wigged me out. I don't care, it's not worth the risk and I'm not looking to move weight. I just have a head stash and when my close friends need, I help em out. That's all I'm willing to do so, this guy's just going to have to look elsewhere.

WOW. Selling drugs to people you don't know... You will be really really lucky if you don't get arrested.
Selling to strangers is like wearing a shirt saying I am a drug dealer. This is a very private thing, not anyones business but those you trust.
But don't worry, cause when you get arrested the cops are gonna tell you that you can either take 5 years in jail, or work with them and they will let you go. You might be concerned that you will get killed if you rat on someone, but they will assure you no one will know.
How is that?
Simple. You will go to your dealer just like every other day, except this time you are there to hook up a friend of yours who hes never met. This friend will either be a cop, or taping the transaction. Bud gets sold, people go home, and 2 weeks later his door gets kicked in and hes hauled off to jail.
But he doesn't need to worry...because he will get a sweet deal too [Read original post for a basic outline of how it will happen]
GOOD LUCK

Either this is a guy who wants to supply his friends, which is profitable to you, or he is a narc and the axe will come down in the first deal you make over a certain minimum quantity limit that may apply in your jurisdiction.
I wouldn't risk it. You are selling which is bad, but you are selling to a stranger no less.
On the other hand, I'm like that too and I'm no dealer and no narc. In the rare instances I get offered a good drug from a trusted source I routinely inquire into bulk quantities. I want to see if its a possibility and how far the price drops. These things are good to know and whats also good is that the trusted source (typically a friend of a friend) gets motivated to do a good deal, as it might well be a sample order for a possible future big deal.

You're being paranoid. I ask people that type of shit all the time if they are moving something I can't get. A lot of people don't want to do it, but I've met some good connects that way. If it was a narc, he probably would try and get your trust before he tried to buy larger amounts,

so if someone gets your trust you better not trust them
makes no sense
when you deal you sometimes need hookups and that is the game he's playing
sooner or later you will go down probably because you have some dumb friend making hookups for you but thats the way it goes

Drug dealing is not about selling to random people.
It is about hooking up friends. Anytime a hookup is done it should be to someone you know well or a friends friend.
If you have true friends, you will know they are smart enough to know who is for real and who isn't.
And also, something to know about narcs, they will never do a deal at a house. The deals they do are only in the open on the streets. NEVER INSIDE OF A HOUSE! They don't do this because of being outnumbered and his life is easily at risk for fatality.

\
WHICH IS EXACTLY WHY THEY DON'T GIVE A FUCK TO GO INTO A HOUSE TO MAKE A WEED BUST.
Its more efficient to just bust someone on the street for weed instead of trying to do it in someones house.
They only go into houses for bigger scale things like meth and shit.
Maybe you should stop speaking by what you think and start learning from personal experience.

Are you that retarded?
It is not worth an undercovers time to try and pose as some faggot bitch who wants weed to go into some guys house and bust the nigger for dealing ounces.
Now, it is VERY worth an undercovers time to go into a house trying to pose and a faggot bitch who wants some tweak and then bust the nigger for selling some hardcore shit.
A cop busting someone on the streets is more worth their time because it takes nearly no effort at all and people are dumb enough to stand their trying to hussle on a corner.
You need to learn something before you talk. You have obviously never dealt with an undercover before.
As much as you don't believe it, they try to keep their people alive. They don't pay out the ass to train someone to just let them waltz into a house and get their head blown the fuck away.

They'll bust a house and sit by the phone and if the guys a regular dealer to all the towns people at least if there dumb enough to call a dude they don't even know trying to buy weed from the house that the cops just bust they'll come over give the money through a window or something and give em the weed...bust em right when they walk away. I've seen it done on cops. Real life too.

Exactly. They'll do anything just to get a quick buck so fuck that. Also thing to watch out for. nice finger nails and nice teeth. Don't ever deal to people you don't know unless your friend is smart enough to deal with people to know from right/wrong.

You changed the term after you realized you are wrong, we were talking about informants, not undercovers. It is a well known fact (to people that have ever been in the game) that cops pay informants per bust. Street level crack buys $40.00 each Weed buys under ounce $100.00 Weed buys over ounce depends on the amount the informant bought. My brother used to sell crack and weed and he told me everything, the dealers know everything that cops do.
And cops would rather have their informant buy from a house so they can search the house and seize it making the cops money.
You literally know jack shit about the game.

Actually I used the term undercover and informant in the same sense. Because is an informant not someone helping the cops and trying to not show it? They are undercovers. I did not say undercover cops.
And you may be lieing or you may not. Because I know that values for busting dealers are different for here. But also the huge drugs around here are probably different from your area.
And again, I will not agree with you saying they prefer houses to bust. When making open street busts everything can be monitored and video taped for 100% verification purposes during your prosecution.
Because if that undercover does not testify then they have no case at all. With video taped footage and monitoring of the whole situation nothing should go wrong and they get everything they need.

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. I know so many people that have been busted by a controlled buy. The cops drop the narc off watch and take photos as he goes in the house and makes the buy. He comes out gives them the drugs and then they go to court and testifiy after you get raided. Usually then send the same one in a couple of times, or they send in multiple ones. You can get a seperate charge for each bag you sell. This is how my friend ended up with five felonies. Same guy, I really don't know but you should really choose people better. People that have been around.

Firstly...whoever says they dont go into your house for weed busts is clearly out of their minds and dont know what the fuck they are talking about.Dont listen to those idiots. A buddy of mine got his house RAIDED for weed. They broke the door down , took everyone in the house in , flipped everything over , went into the floorboards...it was a mess.
Secondly...if u get that gut feeling...go with it. Your gut feeling is ALWAYS right.

LOL
Unless you have some kind of large grow operation, don't worry about it. I don't know where you are from, but in my city no one really cares too much about weed. Me and friends have been pulled over with pipes, hotboxing, with sacks and never got into trouble. They didn't let us keep it, but they didn't care apart from that. One cop did actually compliment the pipe once, and tried to give it back too, which my friend declined as he thought it was a trick haha. The officer told him to crush it, and he did and we went about our day.
Unless they ask for "something harder" or similar when they barely know you, or ask for a ridiculous amount or where you got it, then I might be a little suspicious as that's not a very cool thing to ask a complete stranger in the drug world. The first thought to pop into my head would be "newb", then probably "moron". Not narc or feds.. But as far as weed goes, no one is going to waste time with an "informant" to score a couple of ounces. That takes a lot of time, money and resources. Do you think the average officer wants to fill out all that paperwork for anything less than a field full or several pounds of cannabis? It wouldn't be at all worth it to the department or city unless there was reason to believe it was going to lead to something huge.

Yeah, they aren't going after you if your selling quarters.
It sounds to me like you're in high school and have been listening to too much gangsta rap about hustlin and slangin.

To all the people saying dont sell drugs to strangers, piss off man.
Not everyone gets an amazing friend hook up, and it takes a little digging and introducing to get where you need to be, it's a fucking network, and you haven't met everyone involved.
I work the fuck out of some festies, and I don't know any of those people. But you know how I get through the crowd without getting handcuffs put on me? Music....yes music.
I jam at every goddamn campsite I see for about 3 minutes. 3 minutes is plenty of time to get a grasp on whos campsite it is, who actually belongs at the site ( not the ones who just popped in really quick like me ) and whether or not they are custys here to party, heads here for the music and the people, or undercovers and narcs waitin to pounce someone.
You just gotta have a heads up, and some eyes behind you never helps.
